Think about it. What he is saying is that doing what the competition is doing -- essentially to play catch-up -- is not the Nintendo way. It does things its own way and plays by its own sets of rules. By doing that, it made a profit while finishing third last generation and it is making a profit while in first during this generation. It did not do things to mimic the competition solely for the sake of making themselves seem more like the leading console while the Gamecube was out. It is not doing things to mimic the competition with the Wii while it is the global top seller (though you would never know it has almost a 50 percent global market share reading video game websites).

So maybe Reggie got a bit fed up -- particularly with some of the sites -- and decided to talk in a straightforward manner without "sugar coating" how things are in the world of Nintendo.

i'm gonna say what i said before. this just sounds like grade school whining to me. are we in grade 1? go call mommy if you wanna cry. now dun get me wrong, what they are saying is for the most part, true. but cmon, that's life. imitation is the best form of flattery is it not? damn, if ppl weren't allowed to copy ideas, we'd have monopolies running all aspects of life. do you want the only car you can drive to be ford?

fact is, if any company were to copy and improve on something nintendo made. Hey that's life, show us why your product is better. it adds competition and competition is the cause for these innovations in the first place. keep innovating, the world knows how nintendo rolls, just keep showing it.

you know, it's like how microsoft has brought online gaming to a whole new level. nintendo had two options here. "copy" them (which as he just stated would be embarrassing to do) and actually embrace a good idea and make your product as enjoyable as possible for your consumers... or ignore the many possibilities this service has to offer and be a whiny b*tch about not wanting to copy someone's else idea.

I just hope that next gen people don't troll whatever unique tech the Wii 2 brings in and it's not available in any other platform.

I think one WOULD be embarrassed if one was spouting negative remarks and comments about something only to be immitating it in the end. it's different from being positive and then copying. it's called hypocrisy
