@everyone who has mentioned it:
how does a mouse and keyboard have anything to do with this article? OP says that Move has the precision of a mouse and is capable of handling starcraft similarly. This has nothing to do with price or what you actually need to play SC. It's a metaphor for how pecise the move is.
GTFO!

Motion controllers are a step up from the dual analog gamepad but cannot compare to a mouse + keyboard.

well, apparently, this article was meant for people like you whom understand the importance of the mouse and keyboard and their precision. The Move can handle stuff like SC, now you just need a keyboard.

Waving one hand in the air as much as SC would require would make it tire insanely fast. You would have to have the move in one hand, and the other on the keyboard. It wouldn't be quite as comfortable as Keyboard and Mouse.

On the other hand. A brand new RTS concept where you control space ships in space battles in a 3D space would be interresting with the move.

I was thinking more along the lines of resting your wrist on your lap and just moving the controller with your wrist, not sweeping swooping arm movements. The move is precise down to millimeters, so I bet you could sit at your computer and replace the mouse with the Move and not see any real difference in the hand motions you made.

LISTEN UP PEOPLE!!!!

They're not saying you should play Starcraft 2 on the PS3.
They're not saying the Move is the only device that has this kind of precision.
They're not saying they're first about anything.
They're not saying Wii is bad.
They're not saying you should play RTS on the PS3 from now on.

They are just talking about what kind of precision you should expect from the PS Move. This thread should have like 40 reports for going off topic and derailing the thread!

Either way, I'd love to see Starcraft 2 on PS3 with a keyboard/mouse bundle type being a requirement to play the game that connects to battle.net, I'll bet your ass that it'd sell millions. Think about it, They are releasing 3 different SP versions of the game, each one can be a DA:Awakening type at 40-50 bucks, or different release blu ray, or after all are out, a complete collector's edition on a single blu ray, and would serve as a bridge to both PC and PS3 to one another. All PS3s have hard drives and kbo/mouse support, it'd make so much sense, well, besides that Cell part....

The guys over at Engadget says its quite laggy atm, and that it only supports two players? wuts up with that? Everybody was bashing the Natal for being laggy, but clearly assumed that Sony will not have that same problem especially qith such a basic product. Im confused as to how they got it so wrong!

Only if you use a nunchuk.

I think we should wait on both Natal and Move when they release to judge just how laggy they are.

you are fucking kidding me right? I actually have even more respect for Nintendo now and understand why they went wire on the nunchuck.

I'm afraid so, my friend.

Personally, while it is a disappointing limitation, I can't imagine playing a fully fledged local 4 player game with Move. Party games are usually simplistic, and I think the Move w/o the additional controller will suffice for controls.

I'm personally really against the Move because I have already seen the flood of shovelware pieces of shit on the Wii and it's sickening. I just know that no heart publishers will do the samething yet again.

It all depends on the first party developers. Maybe then we can hopefully see third parties take note and attempt an ambitious title.

I'm perfectly happy with the Sony first party devs as it is, I don't want some motion control shit, well, unless it's from the devs of LBP which they recently acquired, that'd make sense.

For me, as long as their attention is balanced between regular games and motion controls, I'm not bothered at all. Now if they shift ALL of their attention on motion controls - then we have a problem.

too bad it would suck because of no keyboard, and the pointer would work just as well if not better on the wii. Unless you are using mouse+keyboard you would be at a huge disadvantage.

u can :p on the ps3,

You can on the Wii too... amazing how things that have USB support can use USB keyboards as well as other inputs since its all about software that uses it lol

well on the ps3 it's on the SKU, UT3 implemented it with easy, 360 have also usb ports but there is not support in them to use on developers, actually it's locked to microsoft licensed accesories only, third party it's banned from using it without microsoft approval.

not sure about nintendo, never found anything related nintendo, alsonever heard of them having engines for third parties, other  than the wiimote SKU. if any

from what i read keyboards are supported, but mouse isn't,

Uh... do you know what the hell you're saying? Like really?  You can use any old USB Keyboard on any of the systems... anyone can take advantage of that if they program it into the game.

Anyway... for third parties and use of USB Keyboard

This is all...
