I just beat Dante's Inferno and it was such a let down for me. I'm a huge GoW fan so I thought that since DI was sooo close to GoW, that I would really enjoy it. The demo had basic GoW-like gameplay so I thought, what the hell? Man, too bad that the game wouldn't really do much more than that for the rest of the game. The story sucked and was a little confusing (I guess I was confused because the story was stupid. Seriously, Beatrice went to hell because Dante cheated on her?!?). Even though the gameplay was very similar to GoW, the story or feeling you get from playing the game isn't nowhere near as good. To me, it felt like, go here, fight a mob of monsters, do some platforming, fight more monsters, do a puzzle and repeat....felt very bland and boring.
Oh, the ending was horrible, hopefully when it said "to be continued" they don't mean that they're going to make a sequel.

The action feels a lot better then the GoW3 demo and the attack animations are incredible. The animated cut scenes were also really refreshing. Everyone has their own tastes though... |
you can't do shit in the E3 2009 GoW3 demo though, I was doing a lot less stuff than GoW2 all decked out, they only put in the basic stuff and left out the real goodies for the retail game. I say at least give it a rent and buy it if you like it.

Oh, I am looking to do that. However, I can also choose to bury the intellectual property by EA.
Anyhow, I hope you got the reference from Shakepear in the subject title.

I'm gonna try it out for the Titans and Huge Boss battles. But stuff like rolling and some of the attacks felt slow and less responsive compared to Dante's Inferno.

Sounds like God of War to me.........

Hmm... didn't you smack me down in a thread when I tried to argue against that? In regards to people bring up Darksiders or Bayonetta, all I can say is Darksiders tries to at least also rip off Zelda. |
Have you played Darksiders? The controls feel like DMC and mechanics feel like it too save for the boomerang blade that War throws at people.

It's prolly because Blades of Chaos(or Athena now?) has a really long range vs Dante's Scythe so it feels slower, and they added rocket boots later in the game in GoW3 LOLOL, shit was pretty awesome when I saw a demostration of it.

It wasn't THAT bad.
The story was decent, way better than God of War's and it made sense!
The devil made a deal with Beatrice. He brings him home alive but the deal is will Dante cheat on beatrice, and if he does She will go to hell.
I only played the demo (on 360) and I concur that it is a pretty pathetic GOW knockoff, worse in nearly every way and gimmicky to boot. That said I'm not that big of a fan of the genre and actually never bothered to beat GoW II after playing through the first. To repetitive for my tastes.
