Forums - Nintendo - Nintendo involved in a Dr Who game?

Yesterday The Sun (a not so good UK paper) came with the story about a Dr Who game for the Wii and DS that involved Nintendo and the BBC, acording to MCVUK the story actually is real.

MCV can confirm that the Doctor Who title for the Wii rumoured to be in the works by The Sun this morning is real.

Furthermore, it will be released in the UK this October with Koch Media handling sales and marketing duties, though when asked by MCV the firm declined to comment.

The Sun reports that the game is based around new Doctor Matt Smith and will include appearances from classic villains such as the Daleks, Cybermen and Silurians.

The paper quotes an ‘insider’ as saying: “This has been in the pipeline for years. We're delighted to have finally nailed down a deal. We went with Nintendo as they have huge appeal for families and Doctor Who is very much a family brand.

Most people don't know but Nintendo has made some licensed sttuff in the past (most notable Goldeneye) but ... it's weird a niche license about a very local character developed by one of the biggest companies in the world is quite unusual.

Around the Network

Dr. Who is far from just a local character.

Probably fake. But oh god let it be true.

It's true about Dr. Who for Wii, but I think it's only one doctor.

Dr Who is the longest running scifi show ever. Pretty much any country that has strong UK influence(ie the colonies) probably has had Dr Who aired at some point or another.
