Like many of you I have read about the sony move and have a general idea about what it is. It is hard not to think of it as a copy cat of the wii and with natal coming out at the same time it could look old pretty quickly, not because it is in any way inferior but because that's how i feel the general public might see it. The wii has been a run away success this generation helped with it's innovation and low price point and with nearly 70million consoles out there surely most people who like motion control probably have a wii. This leads to the issue of why would someone want to purchase a ps3 for motion control if they already have a wii?
Well the reason would be because the move is much more than a wii, the added bonus of a camera means there is more possibilities. The recent tech demos have shown that the move can near enough do what natal can do in terms of body tracking etc however the move is fundamentally a more better build. If you want to have a motion control game with hd graphics and effects you need solid controls. Now its hard to compare two products against each other if they are not even out yet but early reports suggest natal is laggy and is causing developers a headache. The principle of natal sounds awesome, imagine a game based on heroes were you could play as sylar throwing people around a room with your hands. At this time however the tech just isn't ready. From what I can conclude you're more likely to get a solid hd motion control game with a ps3. It of course boils down to the developers as to how good the games turns out but give them the right tools and it will show.
The other hurdle for sony is pricing, being the technically most advanced console comes at a cost, even if you work it out to be better value most people wont bother or a miss led. If sony really want to attract the casual market away from nintendo there will have to be another price cut or a tempting bundle when move is released. However when I think about it sony has played it safe and maybe too cautious/late /slow etc but come fall the console really will be able to do everything and everything well.
These are thoughts based on what i've read and no i haven't bothered to evidence everything because it's a mixture of different people's opinions
