I didn't realize FF13 had a western appeal.

You can definitely tell from the giant clock villians to the protagonist with 20 belts on her.

I didn't expect you to understand, but it was worth a shot. On that note I'm not going to bother with it anymore. I'll allow you to walk away with some pride left at my own expense.

It's one thing to be annoyed at a system going multi-plat, but it's going to a whole other level to be upset that the commercial for the game had pictures from the other version that had slightly better graphics. They're not advertising the graphics, they're advertising the game.

And ironman, don't expect to get any point across if you can't prevent yourself from insulting someone for a faulty notion.

I'm not upset at all. My comment was about the video, the original post for that matter.

I said they have the right to boo, and that the visuals on both versions are different.

Real fans of Final Fantasy wouldn't boo. They'd be happy that more people could play FF13.

Fanboys would boo out of spite and feeling betrayed, both being horrible reasons.

lol new someone would catch me. came into this thread to get one of my post for the the thread talking about the ASA and square and the ad. then I decide to post here instead. I'll go bow my head in shame now.

FF this gen was worse than last gen though, and it's because it's multiplatform. Apparently. I don't entirely believe that's the case but that is what fans have been told. So it's rather understandable that they're annoyed that there franchise has gone to shit, thanks to Square publishing the game on the 360. 

I doubt it was a good business decision either, considering the additional development costs, coupled by a sizable amount of the eastern market to reject the game, and the VG industry as a whole to view the game as lesser, than the rest of the series. If you believe what the media tells you, this is all because of the multiplatform deal SE made. 

Fans would rather accept that, than the alternative. That SE just produce crappy games nowadays. Blaming Microsoft is much more comforting to fans, than blaming Square. Of course the already present, distaste for Microsoft products doesn't help, there's a reason no one was booing at Dragon Quest being on Wii/DS. Those publishing deals make a lot more sense than Final Fantasys, too. 

Have you seen the screenshots? Even side by side there is a minimal diferance. I guarantee that the person who reported this was a fanboy or a graphics whore that reported this, both of which are a minority, do you honestly think the average consumer is going to give a crap? And let's not forget, without the average consumer, this game would not exist due to a lack of funds.

Doesn't matter. Someone felt the need to complain, fanboy or otherwise. My view (or yours) on the topic won't change that.

Personally, if I see them side-by-side I can tell the difference, but show me a random screenshot and I'd have no idea which console it'd been taken from. But someone, (graphics whore, fanboy, Sony employee etc.) saw it, complained and the ASA felt it was justified.

Now that I have played this myself, I honestly believe they should have boo'd the awful game
