Forums - Gaming - Final Fantasy Fans Boo Xbox 360 at Final Fantasy XIII launch party

It's petty of them to boo but FFIIIX ws definately designed with the PS3 in mind and the M$ turned up with their dollars and SE thought they might as well port the damn thing. The result is an embarrasing 360 version when put next to the PS3 and the fans know this hence they are booing the 360 version being promoted.

It's not Microsofts fault Sony did a exclusive FFXIII PS3 bundle in Japan

FFXIII only releases on the PS3 in Japan, so it's sort of redundant (right word to use?) to say "exclusive".

Stop making excuses. It's obvious that launch party had PS3 fanboys majorly in there so Sony exclusivity is no excuse. Sony could've had a western PS3 bundle before Microsoft got their hands on that deal and you know with their clout they could've done it.

Errr, calm down there cowboy. I'm not making any excuses for anything, only pointing out the weird statement you made (Almost like saying an exclusive Halo 3 bundle for example).

Pull out the adrenaline needle, get your head out of the console war, and calm down.

Halo 3 is an actual exclusive. The only reason FFXIII is exclusive in Japan is because SE saw that the Japanese have a bias to the 360.

Or because the 360 has a tiny user base in Japan. And your statement is still awkward. Of course the FFXIII bundle is PS3 exclusive in Japan, it's an PS3 exclusive already.

You're saying small user base and I already stated why the 360 has a small user base and why the 360 FFXIII wouldn't work in Japan. It's awkward because its true.

Bias? No, they know they have better options.

Um....actually there are economically more options in the states. The Japanese choose not to because they don't want to and they have product nationalism if they have a product that is on par or better than another product of similar style.

There's no excuse for any group of people to do that. Nothing wrong with FFXIII being on the 360, I guess those people weren't around when FF jumped ship from Nintendo to Sony then :P

Oh and btw, there's no Final Fantasy fans (I read it a couple of pages ago)? Yeah, keep telling that to yourself, whomever you are.

Maybe they are booing because of the inclusion of the Xbox 360 version, their game got delayed tremendously longer and therefore was released later. After the talk that it was PS3 exclusive for many months, years, etc leading up to it.

Expecting this, most if not all of those folks probably own a PS3 in large part for Final Fantasy. And because of the similarities of the two systems have no desire, want or need for an Xbox 360 with an inferior copy of the game?

But nah... I guess there is too much logic in that.

You're saying small user base and I already stated why the 360 has a small user base and why the 360 FFXIII wouldn't work in Japan. It's awkward because its true.

The small user base is an objective and undeniable fact. The Japanese having a bias against American products (I'm assuming that's what you meant by "bias to the 360", so correct me if I'm jumping the gun here), is a completely wild and baseless speculation, and subjective opinion.

Your statement that an exclusive game has an exclusive bundle IS awkward, and has nothing to do with our side conversation of why the 360 failed in Japan.

I really don't see what you're defending. Just admit that it's redundant to say "Exclusive game A, has an exclusive bundle", just as saying "Halo has an exclusive 360 bundle!". You'll probabgly say "Lol, why say "Exclusive" 360 bundle, and not just 360 bundle? Of course it's exclusive you silly little man" if I made that Halo statement.

So, way to start a quote pyramyd and argument over a small observation I made.

FF has always been on a Japanese made system whether it be Nintendo or Sony so really it never mattered for them. The only people who responded negatively were Nintendo and business people in the west we call a screw job a screw job.

I same what understand their feeling.

If some one took my favorite franchise and defiled it by making it muti thus degrading its quality id be pissed to.

Um, FF has been on other platforms... Heck it BEGAN on a different platform...

reading or comprehension problem ?

By making FF13 multi platform they sacraficed quality.

Nope.  Clarification problem?  You said they took your favorite FRANCHISE and made it multiplat.  You didn't specify just FF13.  The FF franchise has been on multiple platforms for years and even switched a few times.  Next time don't jump my case before checking up on your own fuck up.

They also sacrificed nothing by making that individual game multiplat.  Only the 360 version is slightly lower resolution and what not.  Your precious PS3 version is still just fine!

How about this? Microsoft got the bundle rights in the west to a Japanese product they want exclusively Japanese. :)

That still doesn't give them the right to act like this. It was a matter of time before Final Fantasy jumped ship to another console. Who's to say that in the future Final Fantasy games won't go back to being Nintendo only?

I don't get people caring more about the consoles which games are on, instead of the actual games >_>
