Forums - Microsoft - Flash on Windows Phone 7 confirmed.

I am sure glad that they are getting on this. I will be, however, disappointed if they do not include this ability on the Zune.

Will Zune HD get this? I don't know if browser on the Zune is W7 based...

THIS. If the Zune HD gets flash, I WILL buy one.

This makes me think.. has MS kept Flash from other handhelds because they wanted it first?

I know Droid/google, LG, iPhone, Samsung, Moto, Sony, etc.. have been saying Flash is coming, yet they never put it out..

Good news, I suppose, but I would be afraid of running a Flash plug-in into an ie6 based browser on a resource-constrained device... Flash plug-ins exhibit a bad enough behavior on much meatier setups.
I wonder why at MS they never coded their own .Net implementation of Flash, maybe as a layer over silverlight.

They never put it out because Flash is too big a resource hog to run well on handheld hardware. I hear some Android phones ship with Flash, or at least can install it, but the framerate sucks and it rapes your battery.

I'll be very impressed if Microsoft can actually get Adobe to craft a Flash plug in that doesn't suck. When early news of WinMo7 without Flash came out, I was hoping that MS was going to join in burying the beast.

There is a good reason why apple, and probably the others, hasn't allowed flash on their phones.. Besides that flash is a resource hog and pretty unstable..  it's security is also lacking.. a lot.. adobe can make flash run on any phone.. but if you want that is another question..
