Forums - Sony - Playstation Move pricing in UK/EU.

Somehow, if I were Sony, I'd say "under 100 dollars" to check whether consumers are going bonkers over the price. If they are, then announce the real price (lower) afterwards at E3 for example.

If they went extremely low, they'd give MS an insight into their pricing strategy and I wouldn't do that. If Sony has their slot planned AFTER MS on E3, they might be thinking of changing their price depending on the Natal price, imho

I think we should all wait for the official Sony price people, I mean it's under $100 for a kit in the US, I cannot see PS Move bundles (without PS3) costing more than £100!!

neither can i.... thats why I said the starter bundle will be £79.99

sorry that was no dig at you, I was just saying I cannot see it costing more than £100, and I still can't wait.

you cant see what costing more than £100?

i dont get it.

please remember buying two sixaxis costs £70 and then tell me how you get 4 controllers and an eye for less than £100?

your forgetting one important factor, you wont need four controllers(unless you want local play) thanks to psn, you will be able to play against other people online

to me it will be one wand, one sub controller, one psEye for £75, maybe a game with it too if we are lucky, but it will probably be a cheap game aka wii Sports (sports challengers fit's the bill here lol)

hahaha i already have the eye, so I will be buying a MOVE and a nunchucky muhahahaha

@Kowenicki do you have a link for the starter price in US?

I would have thought they would sell the MOVE for about the same price as a DS3, maybe slightly more :s about £40

and the extra nunchuck bit about £20, bringing the cost of both to around £60

Although, I think Sony should have different bundles:

1) for those who already have an eye - £70 for MOVE, Chuck and a game
2) £60 for to MOVES
3) Starter Pack with game for £70

anything close to £100 will scare people off. Hell as much as I want it I would think twice about it, unless it comes with a game so firggin awesome, I am forced to buy it.

So Sony, if you are listening, don't rape us on pricing! That is the MS accessory department's job.

As for Natal, I thikn it shouldn't cost anymore than £50 and I don't think MS will want to over price it either since they will want one in every 360 owners home. I reckon they will plan on mkaing up for it through software sales. Natal will over all be cheaper IMO since it doesn't require any extra peripheals, but that is my concern- no physical sense of control from the eye toy has left a sour taste in me mouth :s

still too early to tell, but one way or another its going to rape europe's wallet like everything else.
(Damn taxs)

Well, here in canada if you want to get a Wii mote + Wii Motion + a Nunchuk it's going to cost you about 100$.

With the PSmove you can get a motion controller, a game, and the playstation eye for just under 100$? That seems pretty fair.. cheaper than the wii and considering its more accurate it should be more expensive?

The entire thing falls on whether or not the subcontroller is too expensive.

for hardcore, online multiplayer ... sure !

but CASUAL = OFFLINE

so you will need 4 controller

execpt if you play games that only need 1 per player ...

Time to Work !

Speculation will get you everywhere.

I wonder when we will actually hear a price point -- not an assumed price.

79.99 is just to expensive.

I doubt they would pitch it that high. If people dont buy the Move controllers then the whole thing will be stillborn.

Trying to work this out...

Lets take the ps3 120 gig as a guide.  $299 and £249

so...

Starter pack $99  (assumed) would be £82, lets call it £79.99.

Thats for one controller and a ps eye plus a bundled game

Bearing in mind a sixaxis costs £34 here then I think it is reasonable to say an extra move controller will cost £30 at least

nunchuck?... well the wii ones cost £14.99, I reckon the sony ones will be slightly more at £19.99 - so £39.98 for 2.

So totaling this up we have

starter pack £79.99

extra move controller £30

2 nunchucks £39.98

Total is £149.97   (probably 169 euros)

(for purely comparison purposes thats $224, clearly it will be less than this in the states though)

Is that a fair estimate and if so what are peoples thoughts on this.

the component prices seem a not bad guess with the exception of the nunchick.  reports say it has no motion sensing so it should really be cheaper than Wii one in terms of costs hence price.

I'm guessing that the starter pack will be £79.99 as you say with a pack (glowing ball plus nunchuck) coming in at £39.99 - I think they would be mad so split the controller purchase as that would fragment the market all to hell for games.  But who knows with Sony.  Personally though I think they need to push that you have EyeToy, wand plus nunchuck and allow developers to use both or one accordingly but know they are both always going to be there.

Try to be reasonable... its easier than you think...
