I've owned a Wii but could never understand Nintendo's adherence to dated graphics tech. I can assure you there will likely be games from standout studios like Naughty Dog and Santa Monica Studios that will incorporate the Move and many of the naysayers may have to eat their comments and swallow their pride. from 2004

See the problem isnt that they attempted a form of motion control back in 2004 or whatever, Nintendo had released into the market the awful powerglove back a decade or so earlier than that which is similar to what we have now, the thing that bugs most people is that the latest iteration that they plan to release is a complete knock off of the Wii remote nunchuk build (and packaging it with a Wii Sports knock off) rather than trying to do something more original with their globe technology. They basically applied what they knew from the glowing globe/eye toy combo to the tried and tested methods of the Wii Remote and took in Nintendo's customer and professional complaints about what it can and can't do to attempt to fix it. Just as Nintendo did when they decided to add motion plus when realising people wanted more 1-1 like control methods and once the technology became more affordable.

some yes but not anyone in this thread
Regardless if it's a ripoff or not, I don't see this selling millions, most people wont care they already have a wii for motion controlls.
They started developing the thing in 2004. Back then dev's were using the Eyetoy
There is a video from 2004 with a dev explaining the technology that used the EyeToy and mote-pad thing with a glowing ball on....does anyone actually do any search before posting?
Its not a rip-off...IMO its Nintendo that has "borrowed" ideas from elsewhere
so many n00bs on this thing. don't you read? about 20 guys already mentioned the ps2 video.

Well it is a rip off because Sony decided to release it only after the Success of the Wii.
