gustave : it is TPS

also, why no body tracking with the camera ? why no "real live crouching" ?

what is the point to have a motion controller if you only have o move it "slightly" to target an enemy ... like you do with a normal controller ?

Real live crouching in 4 hours of multiplayer? Sounds awesome! ... not

MY HYPE LIST: 1) Gran Turismo 5; 2) Civilization V; 3) Starcraft II; 4) The Last Guardian; 5) Metal Gear Solid: Rising

"live crouching" ? yeah, fat people may not like it

BUT if they just do this type of "sitting" gameplay, then it is dead for them ... it is even less "impressive" (from a gameplay view) than the wiimote.

I hope for Sony that Natal is "average" too ...

It's not only fat people question... do you like doing squats? Imagine you have to duck in and out of cover 10 times during one shootout...

And do you think people actually want to play shooters with motion? I sure don't. Best control scheme is still mouse and a keyboard, but this is definately upgrade over analog stick.

If it were by me, the only place for motion controlling should be sports games like tennis and maybe some of that sword fighting... I have a Wii and I don't like motion control in most games, it's just not comfortable. I don't know if you own or experienced Wii thoroughly, but the "Wow" factor passes rather fast.

The motion pointing game play is much more intuitive and accurate that sticks in a sixaxis. I'm thinking of RE4 on Wii. And about not moving the controller much, is like in a FPS, not moving the mouse much if the sensitivity is high (as I like it). It's all in the wrist and mind, not the moves and sweat.

I was going to buy MAG, but now I am considering waiting for Socom 4 lol, all this motion control for shooter games is making my super hyped, now make that rpg motion game I want Sony!!!

I agree with you... pointless demonstration

I thought we had all agreed that just tagging a motion option onto a fps was a pretty pointless exercise.

If all you did is sit there then you may aswell use a sixaxis or 360 controller.

that is it.

I m not seeing by any mean that "live crouching" in FPS is ... great ! I have never used it lol

But, when I see a new motion control experience with a camera (so that may be able to do it...) and the guy just sit down and barely move his arm like if he was using ... a simple paddle !

Sure, it may be more precise ... but then they will just make the game more difficult to match your new skill, end.

Also, they should have showcased a 2 player game !
wait ... 2 players ... 4 wand to purchase if you want to play with your 2 arms !

you are going to have to explain to me why you think this.  of all the genres FPS is the one which I dont get for motion.

I'm not being funny, I'm curious...  if all you do is sit there then why this over the sixaxis?

out of interest... have you played a FPS on the Wii with nunchuck and wiimote?

I have played Resident Evil 4, but that is not a strict FPS And yes it is far better than using the dual shock (for shooter games). I find it much quicker and more accurate than using an analogue stick to target an enemy, and I don't suck at shooter games either as normally my accuracy is around 70% (on uncharted 2), but I know when I play on the Wii my accuracy actually increases on shooting games due to the motion controls.

I cant help thinking that to move your arm takes loinger than to move your finger...

so if some players are using sixaxis they will murder those using move.

I'm staggered you think using this is better than using sixaxis in a multiplayer FPS.

You are not moving your whole arm, you are twisting your wrist. It's in general very similar movement to controling a PC mouse. Now have you ever tryied to compete with analog controller to PC mouse when it comes to shooters?

Go play some PC game that enables console controller (Xbox one is for PC I believe) and use it in multiplayer against mouse users. You'll get your ass handed to you in the worst possible manner. I've been playing competetive multiplayer shooters on PC for decade now, I've been to progaming event and played in european clanbase tournament's on the highest level. Mouse + keyboard > Motion Controler as "pointer" >>> Analog stick.

as far as fps games are concerns, the best to worse controls are as follows:

keyboard/mouse > wiimote/ps3mote > 360 controller > ps3 controller

I for one (being a pc fps gamer) am looking forward to FPS utilizing the motion controls on the ps3. It may even allow me to get back into the genre on my ps3.

motion controls become the standard for fps games.

I don't think this is uncharteds game engine. Anyone familiar with MAG can see it has a more polished graphics look to what Mag looked like. Hell even the writing when he pressed pause at the end is simular to the writing for SVER in MAG.
