Funny cause the Engineer and Medic are my 3rd and 5th most played classes in TF2. But keep on assuming bullshit and trying to come up with sorry excuses. For a while the Engineer was #1 except that I started playing the pyro and Heavy to grab a few achievements. SO yeah... your whole point jsut fell apart right there.

not like it wasn't a grind for achievements to get weapons before in TF2, now it's even worse that it depends on chance =_=; but that doesn't stop me from loving TF2, and that won't stop me from playing Bad Company 2 either, you are weird. =P

If you really wanted the guns you would have jumped in an achievement server and gotten them in 20 mins. Dunno why anyone would grind for guns in that game.

don't like to cheat in games that I pay for. sounds like you are just pissed because you can't cheat your way out of it.

Valve has ways to get rid of all that and you know it. Remember the hats issue? If they thought it was cheating they could easily make it so achievement servers don't functoin or they can simply take all your items away. So no, sorry, it's not cheating. What it is is not wanting to put up with bullshit.

@akvod

You haven't been around a lot have you. You also seema bit slow in understanding what I am saying. Even the few hours in TF2 piss me off, it doesn't matter how fast it is, it shouldn't exist. I have already dismantled your "encourages tactics" bullshit and now you are just grasping at straws.

they can't control servers they don't own, they countered it with random drops, but then you can have servers with incresed drop rates, just happens slower, which is not as bad but still cheating and not the way valve intended it to be no matter how you want to justify it.

the way I figure, if I had the power of the Gods, I'd make you play on this server no matter how many others you try to connect:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sr1i1FlKSV4&fmt=22

at least you'd have fun and not have to resort to cheating.

I didn't say control the servers. I said control the weapons. They can easily make it so that weapons and achievements from achievement servers don't count. Again, remember the hat issue? Here's a refresher:

http://www.atomicmpc.com.au/News/154868,valve-to-remove-ill-gotten-hats-from-tf2.aspx

it's because it was VAC detectable, they can't restrict people running unofficial servers from gaining achievements, so they changed it to random, valve is a good company because of that but if you've ever noticed, unofficial server time, stats, kills, etc etc usually don't get updated into your profile even if you have gained the achievements, the change was to counter those kinds of servers, so yeah, in the grand scheme of things, it's cheating the system, or rather, was.

You do know that since they track servers and achievements they can easily track achievements gained in unofficial servers right?

Unless you want them to turn into EA.net, IW.net, or Battle.net and have full control of your actions, which you are obviously against. That's why I said Valve is a good company because of that, but that doesn't mean that abusing the system is the right thing to do, it's where your morales are when it obviously wasn't intended by design.

I rightfully agree, though I haven't seen so many problems with Battle.net either. Anyhow, when the system is bullshit, you find ways around it. In Valve's own philosophy, the fact achievement servers exist shows that there's a huge demand for not having to put up with the system. They chose not to fight the demand, and they are very smart for it.

They've perma banned so many battle.net accounts that it's funny, and now they are linking all Blizzard products to it, I just hope a ban from one game doesn't mean your entire battle.net is fucked, that, would suck, just imagen all your WoW, SC2, and D3 shit all going away at once due to misunderstanding(people not cheaint but getting hammered playing at internet cafes.) Valve knows to not piss off it's customers too bad, I still don't know wtf L4D2 was about nor am I going to ever buy it unless it's like 5 bucks, but other than that, Valve is a very cool company, so far.

Well there are supposed to be a lot of banned accounts, have you been on there recently with all the spammers? It's even worse for WoW. Though I did not think they ban CDKeys so that you can jsut make a new Bnet account. Also Valve does the same thing, one misunderstadning and VAC nabs you and your entire account of paid for games is fucked.

I got L4D2 for $20 which is about right for an expansion!

yes, getting banned on Steam is way worse than battle.net, and I'll make sure that never happens since my game count is in the 100s already....

Same, but I still don't get what the problem with Battle.net was. I have only seen spammers being banned, and anythign else usually isn't a CD-Key ban I thought.
