Forums - Sony - PS mote so far: Maybe not as perfect as sony claims it is

i dunno about the precision since we gamers/comsumers NEED to try out the controller to see it with ourselves. Even the wii was criticized for not being responsive enough but see how successful it is now. I am not interested in the casual games but i am more interested what the game developers will do to implement move onto their core games. Like Socom 4.
Resident Evil 5 better be one of them xD And more on rails games pleases.

yikes. BBC is reporting on it http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/technology/8556882.stm

They are calling the PS Move as Wii duplicate

THis is always how it will be looked at. Even though it does it a bit differently.

Big surprise..... maybe if the 3D gaming catches on Sony can point there finger at Nintendo and Microsoft when they decide to follow.

Correct me if I'm wrong but didn't Sony use motion controls on the PS2?

They are right that the Move and the other controller do look a lot like the Wii controllers but you could say that the Dualshock, xbox controller, and Gamecube controllers look too much alike.

It's fair to judge it right now. WM+ was evaluated just as many months before release.

Anyone can guess. It takes no effort to throw out lots of predictions and have some of them be correct. You are not and wiser or better for having your guesses be right. Even a blind man can hit the bullseye.

The idea of motion contorls has been around for a very long time. Thier have been lots of threads about them in the past. How  Sega with dreamcast and even further back was messing with it

I do  not see it as a big deal really. I do find it a bit funny after all the talk that has happened about motion controls being a fad, its dumb, etc etc

I want to see new ideas in the motion control area. Not really new controllers but new game ideas and for them to be used more in "core" games other than a little here and thier.  To me and any Wii owner or player this is just a ok seen that before how is this pushing it further. This is also why unless some of thier other games really do push it in a different direction it will always be hey Pacther was right but Sony made the Wii HD not Nintendo.

Meh, its just pre alpha as others said it... and I wouldn't mind "inacurrate controls" as long as it doesn't hamper my gaming experience! I wonder if there gonna invest alot for the arc and natal with their big titles though. Motion controls are awe-some imo when done right (a.k.a. wii games, and I hope this goes for sony and microsoft to the future.)

I too hope it takes off and they do start pushing the limits. This will only make all the companies work harder to be the better overall product. We would all be winners form this.

The Socom 4 demo is amazing but all the rest... I don't know. The table tennis game is really really slow and Motion Fighter seems to be a bad game.

This gives Sony a good advantage if there's strong third party support like RE5 and others. Sony could say " Well you can play this game on our system with full 3D motion controls that isn't available on the Wii and without motion controls on the 360."

I wouldn't be surprised if most third person shooters like Dead Space 2, Lost Planet 2, Red Dead, Quantum Theory, Alpha Protocol, Max Payne 3, and others could use motion controls for their games as alternative controls. It could sway some people to choose the PS3 version over the 360.

Y'know, for years now we've seen incompetent gamers wrongly slag some Wii controls as inaccurate or ungainly because they couldn't get over a little learning curve or utilize some simple techniques (such as resting your wrist on your knee while using the pointer).

There's a good chance that these same incompetent gamers who are chained to their thumbsticks are going to be just as perplexed by Sony's Move as they were with the wiimote, even if the controls work fine once you have a little experience.
