Forums - Sony - I attended an FF13 launch event unwittingly.

I went to the midnight of FFXIII release with my main gaming bud, we both had many conversations with the people also waiting! hell even got some PSN ID's!

can't wait wait for the God of War 3 midnight release!

Did you witness any live trolling or fanboyism attacks?

ah yes, there was a lot!

here in the philippines, gamers are mostly (like 90%) PS3 oriented. hardly anyone buys any 360 games around here because of piracy. so the guys in the store were all like "why did they have to make a 360 version, the 360 sucks anyway, it can't handle the graphics, it's going to have rrod before you finish the 60 hours, the technology is last generation worth", basically comments suggesting that they will never ever buy a 360 (lots of agreement, nodding, etc.).

it was bizarre. it was like being in neogaf land and seeing the forum posters live. i just shrank in a corner to let all the nonsense pass.

Dude you are a Phony. But funny story nonetheless

Interesting story. I think beeing ashamed is an overreaction, there is no need to be ashamed for your hobby. But I also understand your position. Here videogames are partially for the non working poor people. I usually never talk about games. If people are into it I do it sometimes.

Most people dont even know that I play games somehow i just dont fit in the picture of someone who shows strong interest in videogames.

I never was on a launch event before because I can be patient and I dont mind buying a game months after it releases sometimes years. as time passes by the picture of the typical videogame guy will change and you can stand in a line without telling stories.

whats really interesting is that in the line there were just geeks. Its not like a bunch of cheerleader where watching you.
