Yeah that is what it is for. Last time I was around the net rumor mill it was being called the 360+ or the Phoenix (although this is probably still the 720 codename). Still, this is interesting bc it will mean that the new model will most likely not be in time for Nov '10 as I had previously anticipated. Perhaps Nov. 2011?
1.) Ditch the x-clamps.
2.) Make the optical drive a slim one or make the console DL/Cloud only.
3.) Reshuffle the mobo so that the drive is not on top of the GPU.
4.) Use quality solder (lead is preferred this time around).
5.) Implement the Valhalla CGPU.
6.) Include a built in ABGN module already.
Maybe it has something to do with this?

Maybe a redisign is a good idea.
Not to stimulate sales like Sony did but to finally put to bed the RRoD troubles.
With a redesigned console people will think they've worked on it even if they haven't. Its all about public perception and the public are morons.
But then they should have done that a year ago.
I'm betting we see anew 360 this fall with the new 32nm chipset, but my dream would be to have:
- More ram, and sure, developers might try to max it out, but at their own risk
- Flash memory support
- Wireless
- Natal
But there's only one problem. Every 360 has interchangeable harddrives, so how can they make a slim and have room for the massive Harddrives that most 360's have right now?
Maybe MS would have to bite the bullet and release a new HDD just for the "slim" to work.
