Forums - Gaming - So GDC starts tomorrow what do you expect?

Nothing too much from GDC itself, but I hope to see plenty of goodies at Sony's Q1 press event which'll be running alongside the Conference on Wednesday night. It's where they'll finally detail their 2010 lineup.

I am waiting to see PCGA's Horizons Report. For those who don't know, it is a report that estimates how big the PC Gaming market was the year before.

I doubt they will announce anything too big. Honestly last year was one of the only GDC where they actually announced a huge game. Usually they save that for E3. That being said i guarantee they will not announce Gears 3.

Last year Insomniac announced Ratchet & Clank Future: A Crack in Time, the year before that Epic announced Gears of War 2, and the year before that Sony announced LittleBigPlanet and Home.  We've been getting some pretty nice announcements ever since Sony held a keynote there in 07.

Of course, this year the people running the Conference have said they're trying to refocus the Conference back on the devs, and as a result none of the console makers have a keynote this year.

So Sony decided to hold one outside the show (similar to Microsoft's X10 and Nintendo's Media Summit from last month).  I think we'll get at least one new game announcement from Sony.  Probably either Twisted Metal (which Jaffe said would be announced pretty soon after the new year, and which he recently reiterated is releasing this year), or Killzone 3 (given the rumors from numerous sites of a holiday release with Arc compatibility).
