| zarx said: I have noticed that most PC gaming topics usually get filled with comments about how PC gaming is dead and it costs thousands of dollars and to upgrade every six months to be a PC gamer. PC gaming is the most popular gaming platform and the one with the most mainstream support, Games like Farm Ville with its 80 million players make even the most mainstream console games look niche yet, console gamers pretend like no one plays PC games. Wow has over 10 million active players (that is people paying to play not how many people have played it in the past) now you may say that is just one game and an exception to the rule but steam has 1.5+ million users online on a regular basis. Games like Battle field bad company 2 have more PC players than ps3 or x360 players yet on steam more people are playing CoD: modern warfare 2. Additionally indie games like mount & blade and plants vs zombies bring innovation to the gaming scene and make their creators lots of money on PC, but this type of game until recently would never have legally touched consoles (homebrew scene) before this generation without Microsoft’s Live service showing the console makers that there is a lot of potential for this type of game. And all this is despite the higher barrier to entry from price and required knowledge (perceived and otherwise) that in recent years has been declining and will continue to decline, AMD/ATI has been a big part of this with developing more for price than just processing power in the past new technology has been aimed at the enthusiast market and then trickled down to the low to mid price brackets but in recent generations AMD have pushed out new products for all price brackets close to launch as seen by their DX11 HD5XXX series graphics cards that has a product or two for almost every price bracket all with DX11 and eye-finity support (Nvidia don’t seem to have learnt and their DX11 cards will only be enthusiast level at launch and for a long time after if reports are correct.) But I am getting off track so to sum up despite misinformation and the consolisation of mainstream games lack of mainstream support (shoddy ports and lack of PC releases) PC gaming continues to be strong and more diverse than any other platform, and still gets a lot of negativity on boards and miss information spread. Well this joke thread didn’t end well sorry for being so long winded and not being funny. It was meant to be a parody of the 360 negativity thread but I went on a tangent. |
Farmville is not a PC Only game its also a PS3 game. Yes I play Farmville sometimes on my PS3 and it works good aslong as you dont visit other players farm.

The Ps3, and PSP, can emulate PC experiences like web based apps.

though I've always noticed that the people attacking PC gaming always bring price into it, like, really, I'm sorry that you are poor and you can't be as snobby as me and have a nose that reaches the 2nd floor ceiling of my house, that's too bad mmmkay? BIOCH! >=)

lol PC games don't get any negative because that would require them getting attention in the first place!
(j/k I heart you SSJ, shio)
We have PC gaming topics? since when?

Face the future.. Gamecenter ID: nikkom_nl (oh no he didn't!!)
Some people are just afraid of PC Gaming, especially now that PC Gaming is stronger than ever and is gaining ground over Consoles.
