Forums - Sony - This is why IGN has the (one of) the worst scoring ever.

Before anyone flame me , no im not a God of War fanboy, and no i am not interested in scores, and no i don't give a crap about metacritic , or gameranking.

i'm just interested in Reviews being ACTUALLY REVIEWS not just opinions, when you review something you tell its features not for example "well in my opinion i don't like using this weapon instead i use this weapon"

he gave it lower score because the bosses are not always the same , and because the storyline isn't building up (well genius because its the last game why would the story have more plot twists?) ,  and he also complained about the weapons its kinda ironic because they're the same people who complained about "too many different weapons" in God Of War 2.

now thats about IGN , this however in my opinion is a professional review, why? because he doesn't talk about his opinion and how his wife made his life miserable and how he is cool when he is drunk, no he talks about features in the game and explain them in detail.

The IGN video review is better. Honestly these guys sound so crappy they make me want to read the text review

Black Women Are The Most Beautiful Women On The Planet.

"In video game terms, RPGs are games that involve a form of separate battles taking place with a specialized battle system and the use of a system that increases your power through a form of points.

Sure, what you say is the definition, but the connotation of RPGs is what they are in video games." - dtewi

I think they were both good reviews, I feel like I got a better idea of what to expect from the IGN one. I got that the game is awesome and bloody from the Gamespot one.

Reviews are not supposed to be objective. It is impossible for a review to be objective. It's one person's experience with and opinions of whatever they're reviewing. As long as any biases one way or another or are made clear, having personal opinions about weapons, story progression, etc, are completely fine.

I'm not watching the IGN video (either one, actually) and I'm not planning on it, so I can't speak as to whether or not it's a good/professional review, but going solely by the complains you laid out, it's not committing any reviewing crimes.

And who says a game's story can't progress, build up, and twist just because it's the third game in a trilogy? A good saga should have self-contained installments that all stand on their own narrative-wise but add up to a larger, more impactful arc when taken as a whole.

Crusty VGchartz old timer who sporadically returns & posts. Let's debate nebulous shit and expand our perpectives. Or whatever.

Do you know what its like to live on the far side of Uranus?

IGN IS HORRIBLE

Reviews are opinions.

Slightly OT but...

The FFXIII review isn't even out yet and the game releases in 3 hours.

Good job Clements !

Dont blame to reviewer, blame the editor for allowing the subjectivity and lack of objectivity. Tho I do agree its damn hard to write anything objectively.
