I think it could be just because the game isn't what people expected. Reviewers still like the game. The battle system is being praised to the heavens and the story and characters have been well-recieved.

Thats not a nice thread, many other reasons can explain its not as good. For what we know, you cannot make a direct relation to the 360 version.

You post the same comment in every thread that has to do with FF13 and is in red letters. Go somewhere 360 fanboy.

MLB 09: The Show(PS3)
in my opinion, and im sure this will be considered a fanboy comment, even tho i clearly said in my opinion....
I think that putting ff13 on the 360 negatively affected the quality of the game.

The thing is, they could have easily done better (in term of gameplay), whatever if its on Xbox or not. Im basing myself on reviews to say "in term of gameplay", im gonna play the game tomorrow.
I'm probably going to regret it, but I really do think putting FFXIII on the 360 really gave the game a negative wrap, considering that the game couldn't pass the limits, because it had to be on-par with the 360, which is an inferior console in terms of power. They removed certain things in order to not make the PS3 a superior version.
I'm still getting this game when I get a PS3.

This is the true definition of owning.
keeping the game as a PS3 exclusive would be a RETARDED move on Square's part IMO.
Why? Sony is nowhere near the position they were the last two generations. With PS1 and PS2, Sony dominated the market. Their consoles were like the Wii of this generation. This generation, however, PS3 ended up being a HUGE disappointment compared to its predecessors. And I don't mean just hardware sales. Software sales for many PS3 games are extremely disappointing imo.
Square keeping Final Fantasy XIII exclusive would virtually outcast the 38 million people who own Xbox 360's around the world. Bringing the game to 360 was an AMAZING decision because it more than doubles the number of people who have access to playing the game. Which do you think Square cares more for? Stupid biased reviews bringing their game down to an 83/8.3 on game rankings/meta critic, or the possibility of selling millions more? We all know critics and reviewers have been putting down JRPG's recently anyways.
When all is said and done, Final Fantasy XIII 360 should be a million seller by itself. This enough warrants the fact that Square brought it over. I for one am proud of them, and the game has not only met my expectations, it has shattered them in every way possible. It easily ranks in the top 5 games of the series, third only to Final Fantasy VII and XII. It is now my second favorite game this generation, only behind MGS4.

this.
Im not to sure. With the amount of time they had for FF13 (and it being slated for the PS2) they had to have had the game complete up to a point before the 360 convo even began. Things like "Linearity", story and graphics were mostly complete by this point.
Did the game possibly lose some polish/extras because of the 360 version? Maybe, but I dont think it effected it nearly as much as people believe. The only thing that probably did suffer was overall polish, which is not the problem with the game (that most reviewers have alteast, Ill reserve my own judgement for tonight after I get the game)

I have to keep saying this whenever it comes to former PS3 exclusives and "neglecting install base":
Kojima and Konami did it in 2008 when the PS3 was at less than half the install base it's at now, and MGS4 boosted their profits for what? 3 fiscal quarters? Maybe 4? All the while "ignoring the 360 install base".
