So has anyone been playing this game? I just rented it with my brother and we've been up all night playing franchise mode with the Dodgers and Yankees.

The only thing I don't get is whenever we guess the pitch location and the pitch type and time the swing perfect it still makes our guy swing like he was fooled. It doesn't make any sense. It pisses me off when we guess everything right with our best hitters, sitting on a meat pitch and we press x or square and he swings and misses like a gimper.

Other than that I love the game so far. They just keep on adding to a winning formula every year.

reviews have been good... i really envy baseball fans because
i don't even know the rules of baseball. =(

I got this game the friday it came out, and its pretty much the reason I bought a PS3. I am a HUGE baseball fan and love the show. Baseball diehards love the show because of the level of detail and customization that is available. For someone unfamiliar with baseball this game can be a bit overwhelming at first as there is a bit of a learning curve. However if you take the time to edit the settings you can pretty much make it into whatever game you like and would suit you.

For someone completely unfamiliar with baseball you could still have a good time with this game, because you don't have to know everything in order to swing a bat or throw a ball; a simple glance at the instruction booklet will tell you all you need to know to enjoy it. And in my opinion the great thing about baseball is that you never stop learning. The more you play the more you will learn the finer details of the sport and enjoy the game even more. That is where The show excels because the finer things such as pickoff moves, stealing a base, all of the roster moves available in franchise are there and are done perfectly. Its something that the baseball enthusiasts will love, but you don't need to fully understand in order to enjoy the game.

And the graphics are SICK haha.

Hope this helps some of you on-the-fence people!

glad to see another fan. I dont know how into the minor leagues you are, but theres a few fans and scouts on operation sports that create real players in place of all the generic ones, attributes, looks, age, everything. check it out if you're interested
