Up won the Oscar for best animated feautre film which is almost as good.  Where the Wild Thinks are was one of the best movies of 2009 and it got ZERO nomintations.

I glad Up won best animated, but I really wanted Coraline to take that award. Plus why wasn't Ponyo Nominated over the secret of Kells? I saw it and it was good, but Ponyo was much better! I agree that Where The Wild Things Are was ignored, but I also think that Sunshine cleaing should have been nominated for best picture. Both are much better than the Blind side ( I enjoyed the movie, but I don't think it was Oscar worthy)

James Cameron created the whole story/universe of Avatar it couldn't have been nomintated in that category.  It should have been nomintated for best original screenplay but got snubbed.


You obviously didnt get the joke, but thats ok.  And no it shouldnt have been nominated for best original screenplay,  there was nothing original about it.  

I'm pretty sure it was a lot more original when James Cameron first came up with the idea over 15 years ago he just didn't have the tools to make it into a feature film back then.


Isnt that still 5 years after Dances with Wolves came out?

Haven't seen Avatar yet so I can't compare it with Dances with Wolves. 

So how are you arguing for Best Original Screenplay nomination then?

That, and the Academy Awards are boring. The Christoph Waltz award makes me very happy though. The dude totally deserves it.


I'm glad he won as well, he was the only thing good about a very terrible movie.

I'm pretty sure most origianal screenplays aren't very orginal.  Beauty and the Beast won for best original score even though the main theme is a blatant rip-off of The Carnival of the Animals: The Aquarium by Camille Saint-Saens.
