Forums - Gaming - Do you recommend FFXIII to a RPG hater?

You can always rent it you know. You don't have to buy it (unless you live in Japan)

I would never recommend a RPG to someone who hates RPG's. That is like someone recommending me Chinese food.

It is very linear also you get a sense of real-time since the enemies keep on attacking. You gotta constantly be thinking fast and using your abilities, paradigm shifts and such. So in that sense it feels like an action game however if you disliked Kotor 1 then ye ~~

Also if you manage to get lost in FFXIII you truly deserve an award:D

I seen the size of pulse from an online map. If I didn't have a map I would get lost there. Lol.

Bigger than some of the zones in Final Fantasy XI. and those are HUGGGGE.

Skip it if you don't like RPGs, you won't like this more than the others if you don't like the genre in general.

No, don't skip it.

I encourage you, play it, because its not an' RPG. its an action game. a really long action game.

is it true?is it more like an action game than boring talking/walking???

http://www.gamegrep.com/previews/30446-final_fantasy_xiii_not_an_rpg_says_producer_new_1up_exclusive_screens/

Kitase himself says it isn't an' RPG.

An' yes its more action oriented then some other final fantasies, however you won't have control of the characters you want half the game or atleast near half.

Meaning you'll constantly switch between 3 women 2 men and one emo boy.

Im sure there will be alot of talking and walking because well FF is very story focused then anything else, they've all been that way.

SE also spouts a lot of bull shit these days remember? =P

I don't know I thought they might have evoloved over the past 5 years that i didn't play any rpgs to something more main stream

don't count on JRPGs to have super duper evolutions these days, you could try out games like..... if you only have a PS3, try SO4, combat gets good once you have the levels, infinite mana and everything. Long cut scenes and over dramatic JP shit is painful, but you can skip it and just read the text without having to sit there for like 5 fucking hours wondering why they all look like 12 year olds.
