Forums - Sony - Just ordered Star Ocean 3 and Xenosaga Ep I

I couldn't get through an hour of Xenosaga before I felt I had to give up on the game. It just felt so boring. The fighting system wasn't fun. Whatever virtual reality video game program you start the game off in was so bleh in artistic design, level design, enemy variation. It takes a lot for an RPG to turn me off after an hour. Luckily it was only like $6 used.

You should have asked about it before you bought it Soriku. I would have mailed you my copy.

Huh? you actually played Xenosaga ep I? lol that jus' seems weird. an' yeah the game is very annoying, its puzzles were the worst part but overall 1 is a walk in the park compared to II which was unplayable but i somehow even finished that horrid game.

Heard 3 was the best though but its extremely rare world wide, worth 100 bux' easy.

Its true that the gameplay and stages werent it strong point, but damn, the story and cutscene are so awesome that its one of the best PS2 RPG for me. I think you should give it another try, theres some amazing cutscene with KOS-MOS that last litterally anywhere form 30 minutes to 1 hour. And they really do are amazing, when she use her un-human statistic to justify her action, its simply awesome ;). Hope they will bring a good jRPG, story focus on Wii.

Damn it Now I want to play episode 1 and 3 again was over a year now since last time but I can't... must finish FFXIII first when I get it un Tuesday.

If it isn't turnbased it isn't worth playing   (mostly)

And shepherds we shall be,

For Thee, my Lord, for Thee. Power hath descended forth from Thy hand, That our feet may swiftly carry out Thy command. So we shall flow a river forth to Thee And teeming with souls shall it ever be. In Nomine Patris, et Filii, et Spiritūs Sancti. -----The Boondock Saints

I seriously just checked Amazon right now and there were new listings for SO3 and Xenosaga Ep 1, both like new, and at a really cheap price. I ordered them both for $20.96 and that includes shipping :) Not bad.

Great choices, owned and have beaten both...great stories and great gameplay...

Thanks. You've just turned me off from it even more. 60+ hours of plodding gameplay and bland art design so I can be treated to CG cutscenes as my payoff? They have a nice workaround for that which cuts out the middle man. It's called a movie. Maybe that's what Xenosaga should have been. Or maybe an anime or something.

I don't get the criticisms. I loved Xenosaga. Best trilogy out there.

Alot of people don't like the LONG cutscenes and the combat system in Xenosaga: Episode 2 sucked balls. Its still an awesome series though I agree. If only they did something with Episode 2's combat :(

Ep. 1 is probably my favourite of the three. There is one insanely hard boss that kind of hampered the experience though.

Are you talking about the boss you fought when you dived into KOS-MOS?
