Forums - Gaming - Suda51: Natal is great, Sony's Arc isn't exciting

Natal gets Suda's interest

No More Heroes creator, Goichi Suda - aka Suda51 - has given his views on the motion control/sensing technology that will be available for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 later this year.

No More Heroes was originally planned to be an Xbox 360 exclusive, but once Suda saw the technology Nintendo were to offer with the Wii, the title changed platforms. When asked about the supposed ‘Arc’ and Project Natal though, the Grasshopper Manufacture CEO’s comments went against the Sony peripheral, and favoured the control free Natal.

“Why develop a game for the competition (Sony) while their device is exactly the same as Nintendo’s?” he said, in an interview with Gamers.fr. “I'm not really excited about the gadget from Sony. Natal is great, it would be interesting to work on it”

We can’t expect every developer to love the PS3’s motion controller, but with over 80% of worldwide developers working on Natal enabled titles, it’s looks to be tough for the device.

It would be interesting to see what he could do with natal.

I am not totally suprised by his comments.

hmm a lot of developers were talking up Arc but im not surprised people Are not Excited for it.

Atto Suggests...:

Book - Malazan Book of the Fallen series

Game - Metro Last Light

TV - Deadwood

Music - Forest Swords

The man is full of it.....didn't he recently tell Gamespot that he is excited to make stuff for BOTH natal and Arc? :S http://uk.gamespot.com/news/6252758.html

and not to burst the natal bubble (I like it, with certain types of games it can be a fun experience 100%) BUT 80% of the developers? :P I mean seriously? Don't think 80% of the WORLD developers had made games for ANY console even let alone Natal..but then again the guy who said it is Microsoft, what else can one expect

anywho let's hope for some good games for both Natal and Arc, would like to a a good NMH for Arc

Microsoft said that about 70-80% of publishers are supporting natal

But I think that both have some awesome potential and arc seems more practical and easier to work with. Arc will be what wii should have been. Natal will be more family oriented

Well according to Suda51 the Arc is exactly the same as the Wiimote. I suppose that's why it isn't as exciting to him and Natal is.

thats kind of like saying why make any game for both the ps3 and 360 because they both sport the same control system, um to make more money? Lol, what a douche

I agree with him there, except the ps3 can do hd graphics and the wii cannot (that is what I meant more or less in my arc/wii comparison). Personally I am more excited about what developers will do with natal. There are going to be some creative games out there.....hopefully!

Let's dance for natal confrimed.

by saying 80% supporting nathal does it mean that 80% are creating titles for it? Or just that they think is good to have new tech and maybe in the future we can arrange something. If it's true than that means that the 360 should have a shit load of tittles coming out in the next couple of years? Where did I miss those news???!?!?!!!?
