Forums - General - What do you thin about Gay Parade\Pride Events?

From all parts of the world, from São Paulo in Brazil, Amsterdam and even Shanghai in China people organize the Gay Parades.

What do you think about this?

-------------------------\\------------------------\\---------------------------\\------------------------------------\\-------------------

My opinion:

I have 2 gay male friends and one lesbian friend, a bisexuality case and one closet case but it is soon to be confirmed as gay. So it makes 3 gay guys and practically 2 gay females.

While being gay and enjoying that in the privacy of their room and discretely in public, they're also normal people like anyone else that is hetero.

Now gay Parade people completely annoys me. What's the point in doing such an event?

"YEAH BITCH I'M SO GAY I'D HIT YOU ALL FIT DELICIOUS BODY MANNN" "I'M SUCH A NASTY BIATCH" "TOUCH MY ASS, I'M HORNY"

Oh come on, you don't see any hetero parades do you? "YEAH I'M HETERO DUDE, GET OFF, I WANT PUSSY! I LOVE BOOBS"

This is wrong. People that usually go on gay parades should be arrested for public disorder and disrespect. That's an absolute shame and I'm sure many gay people feel sad about being associated with such event.

Being gay is acceptable, being a stupid and disgusting gay makes me want to shot up their gay loosen up asses.

Well, I understand the point of gay parades: to remind others that we're still here, and that we're not going away. There are still quite a few people (and groups) that would love to happily pretend that we don't exist, or that we'll all just shut up and let them repress us.

So, needless to say, I think the concept of a gay parade is good. My problem with them is how they so frequently play into the stereotypes which not all of us fit. Reminding people that we still exist: good. Getting up in their faces and being aggressive about it, which is how most parades seem to do this: bad. I'm more a fan of subdued reminders- we're still here, but we're also normal people, just like you. These flashy, over-the-top parades really do make us seem like a second kind of race at times...

I honestly don't care....Why should we be annoyed ? Gay people have the right to do anything they want..

I think they're gay.

I think they're more than that.

It used to be that so many gay people were in the closet and participating in their own subjugation (Some people are still doing this) and its really easy to discriminate a group that doesn't appear to exist. Some other gay people who DIDN'T want to be thought of as in the closet started dramatically parading themselves so people could see they exist... and that started the tradition of the gay pride parade.

The invisibility thing is mostly gone now but you have to remember that gay people in many countries are still treated unequally and that there's considered to be something wrong with us.. The gay pride parade is an affirmation of pride in yourself.. straight people aren't treated unequally or flawed.. thus no reason to have a straight pride parade.

While I don't like any X pride thing (what is there to be proud of a born condition? How can I possibly be proud of a nationality, a sexual orientation, pigment of my skin, etc? Is it superior to be X? Does that not mean that Y is inferior?), I don't think there is anything wrong with a simple parade.

I would say though that if one wants to be taken respectably, they shouldn't be half naked and spooning each other. Being homosexual does not mean you're an exhibitionist, or a party animal, all it means is that you are sexually attracted to the same sex. Promoting such images only hurt their cause, and give credence to the ignorant people that attach such extra qualities to a mere sexual orientation.

I like parades, be they gay, tickertape, military or other.

Hetero's have love-parades though.

Also, I've been meaning to post these. Mind you, picture one isn't the parade... it's the people watching on only about a 50 meter stretch of the whole, what is it, 3 klik long parade?
