Why is the Edge score still only for the PS3 on Metacritic?

It was a review for both consoles...

Format: 360, PS3 (version tested)
Release: March 9 (US/Eur), out now (JP)
Publisher: Square Enix
Developer: In-house

I was waiting for that response.

Metacritic shows the Eurogamer score for both PS3 and 360, yet check this out.

But bearing in mind that Oli Welsh's Eurogamer review is based on the superior PS3 build, commentary for those who only own an Xbox 360 is probably worthwhile.

So that excuse can't work.

This is clearly a pick and choose situation on Metacritics part and I don't like it.

iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.

Currently playing:

Final Fantasy VI (iOS), Final Fantasy: Record Keeper (iOS) & Dragon Quest V (iOS)

Got a retro room? Post it here!

Nevermind. Seems they took the Eurogamer score away from the 360 version too.

This is going to end up as PS3 version with everyone's scores v.s. 360 version with Xbox Mag + Site score.

Edge have always been attention whoring. I guess the idea is that they're supposed to be 'edgy' and surprising, but in the end this gets in the way of honest reviewing. I think they gave Killzone 2 a 6 or something like that before. Whatever.

Actually its much worse than that.

  • Don't like linear games, especially RPGs
  • Don't like cinematic games
  • Don't like QTEs
  • Don't seem to rate on graphics
  • Don't have the patience to wait 20 hours.

How can this be good for Sony games when most of their big ones trip 3 out of the 5 points above? Whats left, gameplay? But you see, even though games like Gears of War and Halo 3 may seem 'over-rated' in a gameplay sense I've seen a biometric study and they top every single equivalent PS3 shooter in terms of player response. Unfortunately the sites been taken down where I used to look at it.

Do you know what its like to live on the far side of Uranus?

Games nowadays are about immersion. Back then due to hardware limitations you could not do as much, but tech has improved and so has expectations. People want to actually do things in a game that are fun, engaging, and rewarding instead of grinding on a predefined rail just to see nicely rendered CG that everyone can see watching a movie instead. Story just isn't enough of a draw anymore, as evidenced by the popularity of multiplayer games.

I didn't know Oblivion had guns ~~. As for the low score this is what you get Square if you listen to the fucking whiners. You try to be innovative you get complaints, you try to go back to FFX and guess again people bitch about it.

Also if you haven't played mass effect 1 or 2 please don't critisize it :>

As for me! My FFXIII just arrived!

oblivion was open world so therefore got out of the no gun/s rule, lol

it's the future of handheld

They Gave FF10 a 6/10......... 9 years ago

9 Years later we have a similar FF to FF10.....go figure

That explains... Once a retard, always a retard.

Enchanted Arms>Final Fantasy XIII lol

Enchanted Arms was awesome :P!

I agree. It was. lol. Enchanted Arms' dialogue was a lulz fest, the combat system was actually pretty good (though time-consuming during randoms. That's what Auto-Battle + Fast Forward is for... lol) and the character customization was great. It was an enjoyable jrpg experience. A lot of Jrpgs take themselves way too seriously. Enchanted Arms is like the cheesy B-Movie of jrpgs.

so its becoming clear, how they do their criticism for RPGs:

so Edge Rated after the Formula they have in stock for Games like this, and so we can tell:

Square-enix screwed it up by not giving them an Open World. shame on you square.

Best graph evar!

Also, if a Final Fantasy Fanboy were to review FFXIII, they'll of course rate it high regardless if it sucks or if it doesn't... which is why that 10 out of 10 review that GameRadar gave should be taken with a grain of salt because the reviewer is obviously FF bias.

From this graph EDGE "seems" to be no better being "Open World" bias, however same can be said for "certain" fans of a "certain" once was RPG franchise.

it goes both ways gents, in the end only we can decide whats worthy enough for us to play. i swear all this hypocrisy is starting to become a joke.

What, but that's crazy!  Quite a few review sites pick one multiplat to review and only mention specific differences if they think it's necessary.  Unless EDGE, etc. specifically state their review is not to be taken as representative of other versions it should be used for both versions.

Metacritic is flawed enough as it is statistically without taking this approach.

They really need to revise their approach.

For example they should request from EDGE confirmation of score for 360, or not use review sites that don't specifically review all versions of a multiplatform title.

Oh, what do I care.  Metacritic is just a great example of flawed spoon feeding of the masses of what to believe about something rather than have to think about it themsevles.  I'm not going to get worked up about it even though it makes my statistics and maths qualifications simmer a bit!

Try to be reasonable... its easier than you think...
