Forums - Gaming - Suda51 Not Excited About Sony's Arc, Interested In Natal

No More Heroes creator, Goichi Suda - aka Suda51 - has given his views on the motion control/sensing technology that will be available for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 later this year.

No More Heroes was originally planned to be an Xbox 360 exclusive, but once Suda saw the technology Nintendo were to offer with the Wii, the title changed platforms. But when asked about the supposed ‘Arc’ and Project Natal, the Grasshopper Manufacture CEO’s comments went against the Sony peripheral, and favoured the control free Natal.

“Why develop a game for the competition (Sony) while their device is exactly the same as Nintendo’s?” he said, in an interview with Gamers.fr. “I'm not really excited about the gadget from Sony. Natal is great, it would be interesting to work on it”

We can’t expect every developer to love the PS3’s motion controller, but with over 80% of worldwide developers working on Natal enabled titles, it’s looks to be tough for the device.

I agree with the man, though, its just my opinion.

Funny just the other day he was saying how he was excited to develop on both, PS Arc and MS Natal.

Interesting. Perhaps this will shore up even more devs in Japan for the 360.

Suda being a hypocrite?

80% of developers supporting natal is an over-statement. i can bet that was just MS talk. Yes, Sony's Arc is exactly like the wii-mote but 100 times more accurate. third party games arent selling well in the wii and can be easily ported over to the ps3, where there's a slight or bigger chance it will sell more. i dont think developers will remake all those games to be natal supported, in fact, i think during its launch the arc will have a bigger library than natal. why focus on natal when you can kill 2 birds with 1 stone (wii's wii-mote, ps3's arc)? things are changing quickly too, Ms wont be Second for long. ps3 owns in asia, and soon will take others.

i will also say again that there is a market for 3-D especially when you got well known establish American companies like Disney and Warner Bros backing up Sony in 3-D. I think this year if not early 2011 Sony will take America back
