Get both, you should be able to get Morrowind GotY edition for very little these days. Both are wonderful gaming experiences and with all the mods available the lastability is through the roof.

Thanks, everyone. It seems I'll be getting both, but not the PC versions, just because console gaming is simpler.

Year-end predictions (April 6, 2008):
Are you buying Morrowind for an original Xbox? As far as I can remember, MW isn't supported in BC.
Both are great games. They both have their own unique qualities that make them fantastic RPGs. I loved both of them, and they play similarly, but most of the smaller aspects are vastly different in each game.
For a beginner to the TES universe, Oblivion is a bit more user-friendly. There are no dice rolls to determine attacking and magic. Therefore it's a little easier to addapt to combat. But MW can be vastly more exploited with alchemy and such.
Back from the dead, I'm afraid.

Yea, the first time through is like "wow, this is pretty cool". However, I've found that once I beat the quests, it gets very boring as you start to see the same design and the thought of a living breathing world goes down the tube. In fact, I'm glad I have the PC version because while I want to play through it again to get quests that I didn't do before, I don't feel like doing all the crap to beat all the quests again.
Thank god for console commands.

Blah, I'm trying to remember. Last week my room mate started playing some old Xbox games. I can't remember, however, if he was playing Marrowind on the 360 or his Xbox. . . I'll have to ask him.

No, Morrowind is vastly superior to Oblivion. Morrowind has more interesting quests, lore, world, freedom of choice, variety, story, skills and artistically is better than Oblivion.
Oblvion was a dream to play =).
How long do we need to wait for the next one :(.

2009 or 2010. Once Fallout 3 is done, Beth will probably start on TES V.
Back from the dead, I'm afraid.
I loved Oblivion, but I like the whole series. If you want to see freedom play the original Arena. As the games progressed the worlds got smaller but more detailed.
