Are you buying Morrowind for an original Xbox? As far as I can remember, MW isn't supported in BC.
Both are great games. They both have their own unique qualities that make them fantastic RPGs. I loved both of them, and they play similarly, but most of the smaller aspects are vastly different in each game.
For a beginner to the TES universe, Oblivion is a bit more user-friendly. There are no dice rolls to determine attacking and magic. Therefore it's a little easier to addapt to combat. But MW can be vastly more exploited with alchemy and such.
Back from the dead, I'm afraid.
