Forums - Gaming - Platinum Games expands - Vanquish lead platform is ps3

Destructoid

Remember how the Xbox 360 was the lead platform for Bayonetta, leading to a slapdash PS3 port? Well, my fine feathered friends, fear not! The roles have been reversed this time around, with Platinum Games confirming that the PS3 is the development lead this time around.

"We're leading development on PS3," says director Shinji Mikami. "Obviously each console has its own unique requirements and limitations, but we feel if we can create a good enough presentation on PS3, we'll be off to a good start."

Platinum is developing the game for 360 too, which means Sega won't be handling any more shoddy ports. Hopefully this will lead to equal quality on both platforms, but the important news is that the PS3 won't be stuck with an inferior copy again. That's good news!

It seems Platinum Games are now large enough to handle development for both ps3/360, and ps3 is the lead platform for Vanquish.  This is good to hear, as it means we probably won't have another Bayonetta on our hands.  And it means Platinum Games must be doing rather well!

Vanquish gimped due to 360 confirmed!

I keed, good news!

That's good for PS3 only owners. What happened with Bayonetta was a shame.

"We'll toss the dice however they fall,
And snuggle the girls be they short or tall,
Then follow young Mat whenever he calls,
To dance with Jak o' the Shadows."

"Dr. Tenma, according to you, lives are equal. That's why I live today. But you must have realised it by now...the only thing people are equal in is death"---Johann Liebert (MONSTER)

"WAR is a racket. It always has been.

It is possibly the oldest, easily the most profitable, surely the most vicious. It is the only one international in scope. It is the only one in which the profits are reckoned in dollars and the losses in lives"---Maj. Gen. Smedley Butler

lol, oh Platinum. Totally backwards, their stylish action clone should've led on PS3 and their futuristic TPS led on 360.

Just watched a trailer of the game on GT. It's a shooter...I'll pass

PG games has some of my fave people in gaming but when they took this step to make a generic looking shooter with Halo-ish suit ,They made me cry. I mean these guys when at Capcom did RE,DMC,Okami,Godhand,Viewtiful Joe and debuted with Infinite space Madworld and Bayanetta and all the sudden this Generic looking shooter?

WTF!? Something wierd and random and totally warped better happen in the game that has not been shown yet or else it would seem they just gave up on originality and sold out.

It doesn't look generic. I do wish it looked more PN03-ish though.

Does that mean we'll get another Ghostbusters on our hands?
