Forums - Gaming Discussion - Game Rankings Vs. Metacritic

Which one do you think is more accurate? Game Rankings, or Metacritic?

I think that gamerankings is better but for the life of me I think their site looks amatuerish.

Final* Word on Game Delays:

The game will not be any better or include more content then planned. Any commnets that say so are just PR hogwash to make you feel better for having to wait.

Delays are due to lack of proper resources, skill, or adequate planning by the developer.

Do be thankful that they have enough respect for you to delay the game and maintain its intended level of quality.

*naznatips is exempt

Gamerankings because they dont have a Tony Hawks game at #2.

Neither.

Yay! It's about time we had another kind of flame thread!

A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.

Plus, just for the hell of it: Kelly Brook at the 2008 BAFTAs

I prefer to use Metacritic because their site is easier to eyes. Their old numbers are pretty questionable (like the Tony Hawk game at number two), but make sense on the current consoles.

I prefer metacritic and find them more accurate.

You can't blame them if that's how things are reviewed. Here is the link for the PS2 game:
http://www.metacritic.com/games/platforms/ps2/tonyhawksproskater3

34 reviews... Lowest was a 70, next lowest was a 82, and everything else was 90 or above with the bulk of the scores being 100.

All I can say is I never played Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3, so as far as I know maybe it is that good, or at least back in 2000 it was compared to everything else out at the time.

Game Rankings is the better site.

Boycotting the following:

1. Yoshi: He ate my car and spit out a toaster.

2. Igglybuff: Totally false advertisement. You can have as many as you like they don't buff nothing.

3. the Terms Hardcore/Softcore... We're talking Video Games. Not Porn.

4. The term Casual as relates to Gamers: We make them sound like outsider's that happen to play games.  If that were the case they'd own a PS3.

5. Donuts.... Beacause I drink Beer...... and the biggest fan of Donuts hates Beer.

6. Boycotts: Their so lame.

I dislike the Metacritic weighting system, its so arbitrary that they assign which sites reviews matter more, if you don't like a site as much don't inclde it, but weighting it makes it seem so biased, Gamerankings on the other hand excludes certain sites from its measurement, but the ones it does include are weighted the same, it seems more professional, but the site does need an update in appearance
