Is there a point to this? I'd like to see one person who owns both consoles who will be getting the 360 version. It's not like it uses xbox live or anything. So you are basically only asking who here has onlyl a 360. But does it matter?

I have them both and I'm getting the 360 version, I've already listed why and been unceremoniously ripped by a few people already.

You've been ripped by one person so far in this thread. Maverick.

Some people are getting too defensive.

You're absolutely right, only one person had a problem with my decision here. I think I may have been thinking about another thread. Shouldn't be a drama queen!

LOL. Isn't the cutscenes confirmed as 720p?

Wouldnt it be funny if the leaked version isnt the final copy. LOL.

But according to IGN and every other reviewer site, there is barely a noticeable difference between the 2 versions. So if it's true, then HD doesn't do as much as we thought.

the cutscenes are only confirmed to be 1080p and that too for PS3.

yeah it would be funny if the leaked version is not the final copy but as it has been almost ever since the disc media gaming started the pirated copies that are leaked are the final copies.

and if all the sites are saying the difference isn't much and if they are true, the question here is will it matter to you.by your statements its clear it doesn't matter to you without even looking at both the version.

so just say no.

it would matter for me cause i have 42inch screen and low res games look stretched

Why do people feel the need to always troll the 360 when FF13 is even mentioned?

Just ignore em

in the end while your immersed in the amazing gameplay & gripping story you won't notice any difference.

Full HD is 720p. 1080p is just a higher HD resolution, in the same way 480p is a higher SD resolution than 360p, etc.

And yes, many of your favorite so-called HD games don't actually run in HD. Neither of the Modern Warfare games run in HD. Nor does Halo 3 or Halo 3 ODST.

Not true 720p is HD but not Full HD, Full HD is 1080p.. Not sure why you're saying 720p is Full HD.

And don't tell me I've just been sucked in by marketing.

You have been. "Full HD" or "True HD" is just some bullshit Sony made up. HD is HD. For that matter HD is really bullshit, but regardless once you go over the "HD barrier" you're in HD. If 1080p was full HD what's that make 2560 X 1600? Super mega special awesome definition? No, because Sony doesn't make any products that support it so they haven't invented any bullshit names for it yet. HD is HD. We can't create a new name for every resolution step within it.

2560x1600 has the standard designation of WQXGA (Widescreen Quad Extended Graphics Array).

And yes, industry standards have to label the distinctions between video broadcast standards of 720p or 1080p due to the bandwidth differences of almost 2:1.

Labeling a TV "Full HD" is marketing. The difference between a 1920x1080 (HD 1080) signal/resolution and 1280x720 (HD 720) signal/resolution however, is not marketing. They're two separate standards. Full HD is the industry standard designation for 1920x1080.

Marketing or not it's still bullshit. Assigning a stupid advertising name to every resolution is a ridiculous trend that started with Sony, and yes, they are the ones who coined the term "full HD" and 1080p existed long before that term. These stupid terms are what allowed 1440p to take on the name Extreme Definition. Someone should be shot for starting this trend.

Don't you see the irony in calling these names stupid and at the same time claiming that 720p is Full HD as you did?

It's okay, If you keep repeating your decision, we all know you'll eventually attract more criticism.

360 version for me, unless the reviews come out and say it looks like a NES game. Otherwise, controller preference and acheivements >>>>>> ZOMG GRAPHICZ!

You are getting the gimped version because of controller preference and achivements??........hilarious excuse.

So, what would be a good reason? And I have to say since you're using "gimped" and "excuse" in this sentence, it's hard to take you very seriously.

Well first of all controls are not a major thing in an rpg because its all about the dpad to go through the menus, which on the 360 is a joke.FF13 was made for the ps3,1080p cutscenes,720p gameplay and lossless sound,1 blu ray disc or 18gb install on the 360.When the facts are put out on the table, your reasons for picking up 360 version sound a bit fanboyish to me tbh.

Really? Fanboyish? You do know that someone can have a preference, even a strong one without being a fanboy right? It's not about how well the buttons work as much as comfort for long playing times. For me the 360 controller fits my hands perfectly, and for long play sessions that makes a difference to me. Also, I really care about my gamerscore (I don't farm crappy games, but I like to get it regardless) and don't care about trophies nearly as much. Why can't this just be my preference, why does it have to go to "fanboy-land"? I try very hard to be fair about my comments (I fail miserably sometimes) but I'm not trying to bait anyone. I was asked a question by the OP and answered, and listed my reasons for it.

Exactly, I'd say the controller should be the massive deciding factor between the two versions.

Its an RPG so you will have the controller in your hands for HOURS at a time, its important that you are comfortable with the controller!

?

360 FF13 = gameplay 576p, in-game cutscene= 576p, CG cutscene= 720p (probably)

PS3 FF13 = gameplay 720p, in-game cutscene= 720p**, CG cutscene= 1080p

**The PS3's in game cutscenes may be 1080p, but to be safe, I'll just say it's 720p unless corrected.

This, if true, is very disopointing. Nonetheless, I plan on getting it on the xbox because that is the only console that I have to play it on....for now. (I am planning on getting a ps3 at some point)

All the bickering over resolutions. 1080p is old news, they are only going up with the resolution. For instance, many of your newer films are being shot in 4k. 4096×2048 ( i am only applying this to newer movies captured with digital cameras not 35mm film cameras)

Alas, ps3 owners will be getting the better visual experience in the end.

Fair enough, your reasoning makes sense,I was out of line.
