Forums - Sony - Bluetooth headset for PS3 or anything else really...

I've been thinking of picking up MAG because it comes bundled with the official headset bundled free.

You guys have nearly sold me :P I just dunno if I'll play MAG all that much.. The headset on its own is just too expensive..

It sounds kinda stupid walking around with the Official Playstation bluetooth on your ear, but honestly it is really good. I've had like 3-4 headsets that I would use for gaming and they were ok, but the Playstation headset is by far the best I've tried. I've even used it on my BB and it was muuch better than the rest, very crisp and clear. I never used the Jabra BT530 tho.

How long does the playstation one last and does it sync to two things at once?

I guess you mean what is the battery life for it, if so, it's pretty good. I haven't quite tested it out to see exactly how long it lasts, but it won't have you charging it every day (I'd guess around 8-10 hrs). As far as syncing to two things at once, I'm sure it can (haven't tried it tho).

Thanks for all the info. I might just give the ps one a try out.

this is the bluetooth that i use, you can find it here on amazon for cheap, but ebay is def. the place to get it the cheapest for 20$....its fits great in the ear and ive had it for close to 8 months without problems, although, the best one is def. the official sony ones..good luck

I have that exact same one. It's pretty good.

I am the Playstation Avenger.

I think the official PS3 headset is the best for PS3 and i've used it for my cell and its crystal clear. I love the look of the PS3 headset, its simple, sleek and not all blingy so it doesnt stand out (unless you want it to).

I use the Playstation Eye for a Mic and the Official Headset just to hear with. The Eye blocks out sound coming from the game which is nice because I sit close to the screen [computer monitor] and also pics up sound crisp and clear from the entire room. I plan to get a gaming headset in-order to have 5.1 sound [also, built in Mic] and not disturb everyone else in the house since I game at night often.

However, I used to use just the Official Headset [got it with SOCOM]. It's pretty good for it's price. If you're really interested in SOCOM or Endwar then good news for you sense it will feel like you're getting it for a lower price than the MSRP.

Yeah I saw the bundles. Right now I could get Endwar w/ the headset for $50 on Amazon. I'm waiting to see how my bidding on Ebay goes first.

So, I know I will buy some online games soon and was thinking of a dual purpose bluetooth headset for my BlackBerry and PS3.

Considering the Jabre BT530.

Anyone have any suggestions?

The Jabra BT530 is a great choice, I have one of these and highly recommend it, it has great voice clarity, quality and it looks good.

It works perfectly with my 5800xm and PS3, pair it once for your phone, then pair it again for your PS3, but make sure that both are not on at the same time in the same location.

Very simple to use, once paired use with your phone as normal, if you are playing a game on your PS3 and turn on the headset, it will connect automatically whilst you are playing.

Last tip....don't forget to charge the headset often,  5hrs talktime/250 standby hrs is a lot of time, but nothing is worse than playing a game like MAG and 2 minutes into a 25 minute domination match you hear a low battery warning.........and you're a squad/platoon leader.

Sure it costs a bit more money than others, but it looks better than wearing a official PS3 headset when you want to use your Blackberry.

LOL.

Go for the Sony headset, it's great. Much better than any other headset I tried with my PS3.
