Out of the many games out there this is decent value. $20 for hours of entertainment. 7.5 is the kind of score it deserves.

If they are going to make comparisons to other game, might as well throw in the 'Mass Effect quality storyline' on the heap of things its like.

The conclusion in Chapters 5 and 6 is right up there with the awesomeness of the Virmire/Ilos story arc from ME1. It is for lack of a better word, brilliant.

I had no idea what they were going to throw at me, but they managed to take an engrossing game and step it up about 5 notches, answering every one of the 50 questions I had by the end of chapter 4. Not to mention, the unmentioned tie-ins.

My fiancee summed it up nicely today:

'For a random game I didn't think I would care about or enjoy, it has probably one of the best story lines I've ever seen'.

actually when a game is being bashed from the big ones (IGN,GAMESPOT) the others sites follow with some exeptions

It seems reviewers are too scared to go against the common consensus of the internet.
And we know who runs the internet.
Or should that be who runs their mouths of on the internet.

Its japanese..hmm this game suddenly interested me. Guess I am going to try it out after I finish the Yakuza series :P

If you liked Yakuza, you should at least enjoy Deadly Premonition. It shares some similarities with the Shenmue series...With a thriller/horror atmosphere.
