I don't own a PS3, and I was intrigued by L.A. Noire before I learned it was announced for the 360.

Rockstar? Sandbox? Film Noir? Jazz? Sign me up!

My sentiments exactly!  I want to play this game just to go to jazz clubs and watch old Hollywood movies in the in-game theatres.

That said, this game far exceeds the technology in every Rockstar game to date.  It is a huge game with the most realistic capture technology of any videogame ever.  It also has a central driving story, not just side missions like many of the GTA games.  I think LA Noire should be a huge hit.
This game is on my short-list of most-anticipated games with Halo Reach, and Super Mario Galaxy 2, and Metroid: Other M.

All of that there with technology is something that's nice for bulletpoints, but if they want people to get excited, they need to release gameplay

Indeed, I want to see the gameplay as well.  The game releases is September so it probably won't be too long before we begin to see some gameplay.  Hopefully we don't have to wait all the way to E3 to see a gameplay trailer.  I am excited about the technology too though.  I don't think Rockstar will let us down with the gameplay-- they are a company with very few flops.

Most anticipated games of 2011:

Exactly. I'm into the tech as well, and I'm excited to see it, but I have a hard time being all that excited until I see it in action, or read a preview, or... something!

...

There'll be jazz clubs in L.A. Noire?  Son of a bitch, that's sweet.

I'm not as keen on the in-game theatres, though.  I'll just have to see how that works out.

Actually, I don't know that there will be jazz clubs in LA Noire.  But how could there not be, realistically?  Rockstar has always incorporated a great deal of music into their games-- and they said this game was a near replica of 1940s LA.  I don't think they could make this game without incorporating something of early Hollywood and of the early music recording biz in L.A.-- including the big bands and jazz bands.

I read the Game Informer article. It looks good and it has some impressive technology behind it but I'm tired of sanbox games. Plus, the 1940's? Who can relate to that?

i remember being hyped for this game 2 years ago when they Team Bondi said they were in the finishing stages, a lot of time went by with no info
however, I still can't wait for this game and Red Dead Redemption, Agent, and Max Payne 3

People should be talking about Red Dead Redemption... the more I hear about that game the more I want to play it.

For me its my number one most anticipated game.

L.A. Noire might be too but there's a lot of unknowns about it. I generally like film noirish atmospheres and stories.

LOL... Judging by the previous success of WWII games, I think a lot of gamers will be right at home in the 1940s.
