Atari Announces Test Drive Unlimited 2
Atari's upcoming massively open online racing title is coming this fall, first details and shots.
What could be better than slipping some keys into the ignition of a Dodge Viper and taking to the road? If you're like us, you'll probably never be able to afford a real Viper, so perhaps Atari's newly-announced Test Drive Unlimited 2 will be able to satiate those pedal-to-the-metal urges you've been having.
Test Drive Unlimited 2 puts the world's most desirable vehicles in the players hands. These ultra-limited edition masterpieces are flawlessly replicated with Eden's finely tuned driving technology. Players define their online persona through the customization of their vehicles, and the acquisition of property, clothing and all the accoutrements of a luxurious car-based lifestyle.
Continuing down the same path as its predecessor, Unlimited 2 purports to be a "massively open online racing" game which seamlessly blends the single-player and multiplayer components. We'll reserve judgement, but can a Test Drive game really win out against the likes of Split/Second and Blur? Check back this fall to see who stalls and who pops a turbo.
