What I love most about this thread are the people that have played Halo once at a friends house or just seen videos on the internet and have little to no understanding of how a competitive, balanced fps works commenting on how "generic" Halo is.

I've taken pleasure in putting people in their place before so if you seriously think Halo has made no innovations then please tell me and I will be glad to post a nice long reply showing you why you are so very wrong.

Also loving the graphics comments, hey everyone lets go look at GOW3's alpha footage and laugh how its just GOW2 in hd. People seriously don't understand anything when it comes to game development.

I'll bite. What has Halo innovated upon other than shoehorning a genre into a very limiting control scheme? Because it's certainly not story, gameplay mechanics, or graphics.

I still can't believe you think Halo takes any amount of skill outside of the simplest requirements to play other FPSes.

lol at the trolls. It doesn't matter anyways when Halo fans get an amazing amazing game and haters can hate anyways. Lol this will be the highest selling HD game of the year end of story. Haters can just deal with it while Halo fans rack up kills and carnage starting with the Beta in May baby!!!!!!

You may have only taken a cursory glance at the two games - Halo Reach looks head and shoulders better than Halo 3 - and that's just int he alpha stage. As for why it's called Halo: Reach, it is a prequel (so Halo:4 would be inappropriate) and takes place on the planet Reach, immediately prior to the events of Halo:CE.
