Insomniac Games developed four Ratchet & Clank games on the Playstation 2 before bringing the series over under the moniker of Ratchet & Clank Future to the Playstation 3. When a fan asked if the developer is willing to port the four Playstation 2 games to the Playstation 3 with enhancements (high-definition graphics and trophies support) similar to God of War Collection, Insomniac Games responded with the following on their twitter:
It's a cool idea, if there is enough support for this sort of thing. If SCEA wants to do it, we'd support a dev taking it on.
The development for God of War Collection was outsourced from SCE Santa Monica Studio to Bluepoint Games. Insomniac Games seem to be opened to the idea of a Ratchet & Clank Collection on the Playstation 3 as long as SCEA supports the idea and finds another developer to handle the port.
The latest game in the platforming series, Ratchet & Clank Future: A Crack in Time was released on October 27th last year. You can view some screenshots from the game in the slideshow below:
