the ongoing events with IW and Activision has created a lot of rumour and misconceptions that I thought id clear up
1. Infinity ward ARE fully owned by Activision. This break in contrcat does not mean that Infinity ward can now sell itself to another publisher unless Activision agrees
2.IW are continuing with the COD franchise. The studio is not being axed or cut or leaving COD
3. Sledgehammer's game is not COD8. COD8 will release in 2011, sledgehammer's game is an action adventure spinoff that may also release in 2011
4. Activision are not holding out on royalty payments (yet) these payments are scheduled to be made at the end of the quarter
5.Call of duty is now its own business unit responsible for all mainline titles as well as spin offs. Activision is in complete control of the franchise and can pretty much do anything they want with it
6. Infinity ward is being run by Steve Pearce and Steve Akrich but will letter be replaced by a new leader recruited from within infinity ward
