It's not a morality issue, it's a legality issue. What's being done is illegal, and VGChartz being used by members to promote illegal activity, or worse to point people in the direction of where to go to break the law puts VGChartz in some legal jeopardy in some countries.

Keep your thieving ways to yourself is all I ask.

And before you say the OP isn't promoting piracy, put on your cyber-cop hat and read this thread from that perspective.

If it turns out S-E deliberately leaked it, well then it's fair game. But until you know that for sure it's illegal (in most countries) and people should not be using VGC as a means of talking about it in a positive light. 

For VGC to reduce it's jeopardy this thread should at least be locked.

He isnt promoting it. He asked if it will cripple the sales, and added that he is downloading it himself. Theres no direction to where you can download it and the news isnt exclusive to VGC, and by no means will VGC be accountable for him downloading it. And if a cyber-cop read his post he'd probably go "oh.. damn these kids" and continue on with reading the forums on why CGI should be a mod.

Look who's talking! Your the same guy that posted earler that you are going to download it now too. Piracy Promoting! If I had my way all gaming pirates would be shot. Considering I want to work in the gaming industry people that pirate games  totally sicken me. You have already nearly killed PC gaming you guys want to nearly kill console and handheld gaming too!?

I was downloading it way before i saw this thread.. the internet is bigger than VGC. So, not promoting.. the rest of your input is just a random rant. And PC gaming is by no means dead.

Nobody may stop you from pirating but announcing it to the world? VGchartz allow these kind of threads/comments now? can someone answer me?

Do not post links to or requests for warez. This is pretty well black and white - posting links to or requests for warez can and will get you banned posthaste. When we say warez, here is what we mean: copies of games, ROMs of console games (not including wholly from scratch creations, subject to any licenses said creations may have), leaked versions of non-yet-released games, even ones that will be freely available in the future. Just because you've got your hot little digital hands on a copy of the Duke Nukem Forever open beta a few years early, doesn't mean that you can share it here.

 

He didn't post a link to where he was DL'ing it from nor did anyone ask for the link.

First off, we've already had countless threads about how high torrent downloads were. On those threads there was even the name of the freaking torrent site, and i didn't see you complain. Now, if me saying that it got leaked is against rules i have no problem with the thread being locked and i could even take a ban. Read the rules, though. I didn't break any of them.

The PS3 proved that you can develop a piracy proof system.

Even if geohot hacked the HV and put a foot in the door we wont see pirated games I think because I doubt that the Hackerscene can really hack the PS3 fully. what geohot did was a really magnificent hack but still the PS3 is not threatened.

And I think that Microsoft and Nintendo will do the same. next gen will be pirate free.

Its sad for people that cant afford the games but it will force some other to buy the games this additional money will help to create even bigger games and better games and also fund new technologies like 3d or motion control.

I am looking forward to a pirate free next gen.
