I think the best suggestion was theprof's Last Guardian one. It's a high quality cinematic title that no one else though of, but really should have been "duh." Props to the Prof!

uncharted
uncharted 2
heavy rain
folklore
ratchet and clank: a crack in time- if you like a story with plenty of comic relief
Ps3 sounds better to her. (Not a fanboy) if she likes bioshock than she might like dead space. Uncharted series. Maybe LBP n modNation racers coming up. Heavy rain in a way she might like. Movies we all know ps3 took the tittle.
Now she could go for 360 and get bioshock also dead space n mass effect series. Metro 2033 is also good choice since biochock is kinda related. Movies??? Well she better quit watching movies damn it!! Or just get a blueray or idk hddvd if she has any luck finding any. Depends on her budget also she might not have enough for an elite n get arcade. Overall ps3 is better but she would enjoy 360 also just not ass much as ps3 but hey she will stay enjoy
i'm surprised no one mentioned valkyria chronicles,...or does that fall into the no jrpg category? i'm not really insync with all the categorification of games but i would think she could be interestd in VC as it had a fantastic story to it.
GameAnalyser said: with bunch of exclusives like uncharted 1 and 2, killzone 2, God of War 3(about to release), MGS4 and many more multiplaftorm titles, I would strongly recommend PS3 which is the best for the price that it sells on now. |
Gotta love it when people just don't read the OP.
If she does not want her electric bill to go up to much (except in Winter): Get a PS3 Slim.
If she does not want to use heat during the winter (and keep her bill down): Get a 360.
As far as games go, I think she would enjoy either console.
The only difference I can think of for her is the blue-ray drive. She might not buy many movies, but does she like to rent (I saw the netflix + streaming part but does she only stream?) If so, I would go with the PS3.
If no, then go the easy way. Have your wife's friend come to your house one day and just hold each controller. Once she has done so, pick the console that has the best controller FOR HER. No reason to get into what is better for what, or any of that mess, if it is better for her go that route.

As much as I'd love to take credit for this brilliant idea, it was MUGEN who suggested it T_T

You've been here since september and can't tell when I'm joking?
Well, I'll give you points for at least questioning my logically-sound advice.
Umm, is this thread serious? Caused X-bot will recommend Xbox, and Sony defence force will recommend PS3, so u wont get a true answer anyway
I can't give you an honest "PS3 vs. 360" answer, because I just don't know the 360 well enough.
However, if she ends up getting a PS3, I think these games should be her style:
- Uncharted
- Ratchet & Clank (they're cinematic and don't take themselves too seriously, great games)
- Flower (this is an absolute must)
- The Last Guardian (based on the ICO pedigree alone)
- Heavy Rain (It can't be said enough )
- Blue Toad Murder Files (if she like 'whodunnit' TV shows, this should be a good fit. You should read up on it before recommending it though, I have no idea if it actually fits)
- LittleBigPlanet (I haven't met anyone who hasn't liked it so far)
- L.A. Noire (based on what we have heard so far, this might be right down her alley)
- Heavenly Sword (despite its shortcomings, it's not a bad game, and it is very cinematic and the story is very well told. In that respect, it's up there with Uncharted if you ask me. And the asking price is now pretty in line with the value you get from the singleplayer too.)
- Prince of Persia (from last year, should be good for having something that isn't overwhelming to play)
- Valkyria Chronicles (if she's into strategy. It's a good and well told story, with good english dubs)
- Braid (haven't played it, but it should fit her from what I have heard. Disregard if you think otherwise)
That's all I can think of at the moment.
EDIT:
- Pirates of the Caribbean DLC for LBP (just in case she likes Pirates of the Caribbean )
