I reckon 360 would be a better choice, especially it has a lot of cinematic games.

Mass Effect , Lost Odyssey, Fable.

Plus all the great multiplatform RPG titles.

And 360 is cheaper which for a user that does not plan to invest in gaming heavily thus should be imporant.

Both Consoles are great, I use my 360 alot more, but I cant see myself getting rid of my ps3 anytime soon

with bunch of exclusives like uncharted 1 and 2, killzone 2, God of War 3(about to release), MGS4 and many more multiplaftorm titles, I would strongly recommend PS3 which is the best for the price that it sells on now.

In my opinion, PS3 seems to be getting 3/4 of what XBOX360 is getting now adays, if not most of the games. So you might want to consider the PS3. As well, a lot of older XBOX360 games are being re-released on the PS3.

There's just also my personal opinion that some of the exclusives coming out right now look more interesting on the PS3.

Both consoles would be fine I suppose. Both have a good selection of games.

Killzone 2 is close to being cinematic, but does not seem to be a game for her. I heard Silent Hill was actually good, so dunno where the negative comments came from. But on the 360 side there is Alan Wake coming and she might enjoy. Gears maybe?

You're seriously asking us? You know the majaority answer...so make her get a 360 to defey it. It's like asking the flood what system is the best on bnet.

Erm, probably 360 since its $199 vs $299 and she can make up the difference with some games.

Edit: Since you seem to favour the 360 you can lend her your games, there are more cheap games on the shelf for the 360 and a wider selection at most stores due to the larger userbase in America. Due to this her total cost of ownership can be lower than the PS3 and the lower entry cost sure helps as well.

yes, but what is the value of being able to brag to your friends that you have the most advanced console in the world that even has the capabliity to repair itself? That is priceless sir, priceless.
