Forums - Gaming Discussion - Activision confirms Infinity Ward firings!!!

that will be really motivational for the people at sledgehammer.

i mean, why even try to make a successful game, if you get the same as for making a flop?

“It appeared that there had even been demonstrations to thank Big Brother for raising the chocolate ration to twenty grams a week. And only yesterday, he reflected, it had been announced that the ration was to be reduced to twenty grams a week. Was it possible that they could swallow that, after only twenty-four hours? Yes, they swallowed it.”

Meh Cod replaced MOH as the War fave game and MOH replaced battlefield 1942.
Another War FPS will come up and grab peoples fancy. Cod peaked at 4 anyway.

Yeah just fire the people who made one of the most successful games of all time.

Also the people who recently earned you $1 Billion.

Activision - Go die a slow, painful death.

It sounded like they were fired because they were negoatiating another deal while under contract... which their contracts specifically forbade them from doing.

If that's true... their firing is totally justified.

negociating a contract is not 'illegal', considering their jobs are contract based in the first place.

Activision tried to control IW, and I forseen this will be a big fail

No it can be illegal in contracts.

For example it's illegal inthe NBA to do this.

i had to research this for the rapid fire news on tonight's podcast, so i know a bit about this..

Activision confirmed the firing of the CEO and chief tech officer due to "insubordinance", basically these guys weren't obeying authority or something.

But on the flipside of the argument, Vince Zampella said in an interview a couple of months ago that Activision never wanted the CoD series to become modern, that they wanted the games to stay rooted in WW2-type thing. Then CoD 4 went on to shift 14 million units.

my guess would be that those 2 guys and the Activision team locked horns over future decisions, and the people at the top swung their hammers of authority.
