See you don't know that. Not turning it on definitely doesn't fix the problem, but it could prevent data corruption caused by the bug.
Think of it as a chain of problems... by turning the PS3 on, you could be allowing the problem to become bigger.

they said they HOPE to have it fixed within the next 24 hours. I really hope this is true but I'm not getting my hopes up to fast. And I'm still def worried about the developers consoles, they run and store information different and they aren't working whatsoever, their just looping an endless series of error and reboot messages......I REALLY hope they didn't lose alot of information or that those debug systems are completly bricked, the fix for everyone elses fats might not work on those.

Yeah, people seem to be missing the big word in that article

mm, I don't know about that, Sony is pretty good at getting to fixes for their software and in this case, this is not so much as a daunting task as it would take a long time, though that depends, I guess, but with BIOS chip's flashing a fix is not unheard of in a short amount of time.
I think it's one of those thing's that crop up every now and then that is kind of unforseen, like i said, I doubt much that is has much to do with Sony as it would do with the company that made the PS3's mother board, which as far as i know at that time was FOXCONN

Also
If EVERY Fat Ps3 has been affected.
How will those people who don't have it connected to the internet (which seems a lot) fix the problem if it is fixed via a update?
Seriously what an epic fuck up.

Shit happens.
| Hyruken said: So then this brings PS3 failure rate up to about what 70%? ;) |
um..no that is not the same thing as complete failure in the hardware. and unlike the other this one is less likely needing to be sent in, it most likely need 's the firmware update to fix the BIOS clock state. there is quite a seperator in having to wait until software is sent than having to send in your unit because of complete hardware failure.
