Wario Land Shake It! dropped in price
I notice the OP doesn't mention any Nintendo made software in his list of titles he looks forward too. This makes me wonder if you don't really like Nintendo's first party content. Selling your Wii in 2008 makes this even more obvious. If you don't like Nintendo's first party content, the answer is simple. Do not buy a Wii.
Wii like most Nintendo consoles lacks third party support. So if you don't love Nintendo's own titles this is not the console for you. Then again Monster Hunter Tri and Red Steel 2 are both looking like amazing third party support. Other notable titles to look forward too are Pikmin3, LOZ, Mario Galaxy 2, Metroid The Other M and Vitality sensor!

I feel the same way about Nintendo First party titles. I want them, but I can get plenty of other games for cheaper. Some day, I'll get Puncout!! NSMBWii, Other M, Mario Kart, Brawl and Zelda. But in the mean time I'll be playing other great games that cost a lot less.
I'm a mod, come to me if there's mod'n to do.
Chrizum is the best thing to happen to the internet, Period.
Serves me right for challenging his sales predictions!
Bet with dsisister44: Red Steel 2 will sell 1 million within it's first 365 days of sales.

First of all, some of the games you already named, like Muramasa and Little King's Story, are already great reasons to buy a Wii. But there's a number of other great games you can get. Just looking at the catalog from Nintendo itself, you have Mario Galaxy, Mario Kart, Smash Bros Brawl, New Super Mario Bros Wii, Punch Out, The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess....etc. etc. But as for your second main worry, is their good games coming out on the horizon? Yeah....just spend a couple minutes looking on this board and that question should be answered. 2010 looks to be the best year the Wii has had since its launch, if not ever. Games like Metroid: Other M, Super Mario Galaxy 2, Epic Mickey and Monster Hunter Tri, just to name a few. Not to mention many more big name games coming, such as Zelda Wii, Kirby Wii, Xenoblade, The Last Story and Dragon Quest X. But the real decision you should make to gauge if you should buy a Wii or not is weigh how many games you 'want' on the system next to its price. Considering its $200, I'd say that's worth expecting about at least 4-5 good games out of the system. And the Wii easily has that many games out right now, plus getting twice that many in 2010 alone. |
Eh? Come again?

Honestly selling any system unless you're netting a profit somehow for a used system is always a stupid choice. And now you're saying all that after the huge lineup this year, it's quite a chuckle
OT: All the systems are great, personally my Wii is my main console, probably the most games I've owned since the SNES era, and the most I've gamed since then. But it's all based in taste, I like my niche and innovative games that focus on style and gameplay, on the other hand the Wii has some really awesome traditional games as well like New Super Mario Bros and Call of Duty Modern Warfare, I really don't see how you can go wrong.
Not to mention in the span of 2 months there will be MH3, SMG2, Metroid Other M, and Sin and Punishment 2. Then Nintendo will be having their E3 showcase to show off the rest of the year's line up. If you're a core gamer the time to get a Wii is now, and there's the backlog of titles to pick from.

I got a WII and got bored of it within 6 months. If you like the motion controller then you might get more fun out of it. Nintendo has a great game selection if you like their type of games.

well if you count the game time i had on it then its not a stupid choice....a stupid choice would be if i never played it....either way, nothing is dumber than just letting it sit there in the dust....and like i said before, the line up looks the same to me, and frankly i find mostly all wii games to be below of what i would call a good game. cant wait to i get my psp though, VC2 ftw ^^

Clean your house fool, there's no reason for a pile of dust to be randomly in your room.
Then you clearly don't play any games or probably even look for games to play, or more likely don't even own a Wii and like a lot of people just get on the forums, claim you have one, say its "collecting dust" just to claim all the games are bad "in your opinion" so essentially you can get away with trolling.

no i dont think so, first off, i hate trolling and love to the forums clean, second, i do play games on the wii, ive played brawl for over 700 hours (yes i will own you), beaten zelda twilight princess, and SMG, and my favorite game this gen is fire emblem: radiant dawn....
its just a saying, meaning i havent touched it in awhile *well there is actually alot of dust in my room lol*
When did i say all games on the wii are bad? i said MOSTLY ALL games on the wii are below of what I WOULD CALL a good game
you seem to think that im just some sony fanboy off to kill the wii but im not, i think its a great console for the right type of audience, the audience that nintendo is trying to hit, and im just not a part of it, i was simply giving the OP my input, no trolling here
