Forums - Sony Discussion - Thinking of getting Star Ocean 3

O man i say get the game! SO3:TTEOT was and always will be a fantastic game! I loved all of it! The characters are badass Fayte, Cliff, Absel ( i think thats his name) are all great and they have great comebacks to each other.
The story threw me off completely! The 2nd half of the game just throws you through this giant loop that is completely different from the 1st half i did not expect it at all. I think you will like it alot.

The item inventions arent that bad there time consuming but thats what its for! Battle system is great! And its very fun if you stack your team up the right way. Id give the game a 9.3/10 i liked it alot when i played it 6 years ago so Soriku you like NEED to get the game im ordering you.

There are most definitely better roads to route your money to...

SO3 Pros:

-Fast Loadings. Like cartridge fast!
-Terrific battle system. It's fun, dood.
-Great graphics and music

Cons:

-Lameass story
-Characters that are even worse than the already terrible and hopelessly raped of its potential story.
-The invention system is hard to deal with, especilly without a strategy guide by your side
-Some enemies can be very cheap with MP kills. Then again, so can you.

I'm with Mirson on this. Get Devil Summoner/VP2!

edit: or Odin Sphere. It's nothing like Tales, but I absolutely love it!

@bolded

what? the very first few tries with it i created one of the best weapons for Fayt that i used for more than half of the game.

And when did you try that? What is the weapon, anyway?

bah, it was ages ago, i seriously don't remember any weapons name at all, all i remember from Star Ocean is the moves the characters shout when they do such as "Dimension door!" "Side kick!"  "Northern Star!"

but i do remember that weapon is holy or something its called "Holy (something)" or "Light (something) "  , how i made it i combined something rare that i got from beating a boss in less than 5 minutes (i think) with something.

i seriously don't remember

I live for the burn...and the sting of pleasure...
I live for the sword, the steel, and the gun...

- Wasteland - The Mission.

I really liked the story.

Really liked it, very very good music at times. It carries parts of the game, characters are less interesting indeed but the 'story', gameplay and music more than make up for it.
