Forums - - Cuts made for NA/EU Version of Yakuza 3

I thought this deserves some attention and dicussion since i couldn't find anyone mentioning this =p

From "Opinion Tab" on "Game Summary" page:

http://blogs.sega.com/usa/2010/02/24/whats-up-with-yakuza-3/ <---- Main announcement

http://kotaku.com/5479525/ <---- Sega later replied to kotaku which wasn't mentioned on the Sega blog

Like I said in the opinion tab I am still getting the game regardless because I have no other choice. I realise its a little thing they removed but I am not at all happy with the excuse Sega has given and also announcing it 2 weeks before the game's release. Actually I am quite offended by the excuse, because I am a westerner I do not have privilege of recieving the full game T_T. Also the time excuse, I don't think anybody would mind waiting a few more weeks for a good game so lol short on time ..... its very genius to release the game on the most packed month of the year and also pushing "Resonance of Fate" back to March as well.

Edit: Sorry I just realised this has already been posted here -> http://vgchartz.com/forum/thread.php?id=101849&page=1 ^^; (Don't think I can remove this thread)

wow.... i didn't know they cut off that much stuff in this game (not only the club but some mini games) =[ and that some of the DLC (2 player mini games) and exclusively to US people who preorder it.

i was really looking forward to this.... i love the japanese setting in it! why do they want to make it non japanese?!?!

I live for the burn...and the sting of pleasure...
I live for the sword, the steel, and the gun...

Chapter 6

No cuts (!!!!!!)

+ Cigarette HEAT Action

Source: http://forums.sega.com/showthread.php?t=319876 and http://forums.sega.com/showthread.php?t=319899

For more info about previous known cuts - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yakuza_3 and news article relating to this: http://kotaku.com/5491650/

This is getting more depressing, still waiting for my copy but it feels I have paid full price for a demo instead and I be expecting more cuts through till the final 12th chapter.

EDIT: Apparently the Cigarette HEAT Action is still there but compared with the Japanese version less magazines can be read in the convenience stores.

This list is 100% accurate. After completing 100 quests, all the hitman missons and the IF7 fights, I am able to get the final quest, Amon.
There were 123 sidequests in RGG3, there are only 101 in Yakuza 3 (Including Amon).

Special thanks:

ThePatrick - Good guide, got all my references there
Sega Localization Team - Without them, this list wouldn't exist
RubyEclipse - For being a great PR guy

I picked it up this afternoon.. not regretting it.

At least they did release it in the US.. unlike ToV.

^ well there is some hint of it coming over so imo not completely hopeless

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tales_of_Vesperia#PlayStation_3_Enhanced_Port

I brought Yakuza 3 as well but at the same time I feel disappointed like I was with the Bayonetta PS3 port and slightly with the Valkyria Chronicles localization. It makes me wonder wft the Sega localization team is doing.

The cuts... seem like stuff that make sense to me. I mean, not even the biggest Japan nerd is probably going to be able to get that trivia stuff down.

The hostess clubs... yeah I could see most Americans just finding that creepy.
