Forums - Sony Discussion - Last Rebellion's disastrous reviews -- worse than WKC

Currently standing at 47% (fail) with 6 reviews in. Since the game is released against FFXIII, this one is a DOA.

Probably because of the graphics. but what did they say the cons are?

I live for the burn...and the sting of pleasure...
I live for the sword, the steel, and the gun...

- Wasteland - The Mission.

Destructoid's quote:

Last Rebellion is underproduced, underdeveloped, unrefined, unpolished, and ultimately forgettable.

IGN's (30% score) quote:
Last Rebellion simply doesn't need to exist. I would gladly take its battle system in another, full-blown RPG, but tucked into a painfully bland story and world, it ends up being nothing more than a waste.

Ah, well i'll see about that. i never played a JRPG that deserved it's score, the high rated ones deserved less and the low rated ones deserved more.

I don't rely on Reviews but damn... i thought this was going to be the Chaos Legion II but oh well... IGN's Chaos LegioN Review as follows ...

Presentation
Stylish but to what end? Gothic, but is it really? Seems like Devil May Cry, or does it?

8.0

Graphics
Gothic, European backgrounds, castles and cities are well done. Superb textures and city design. Great monster design too and tons of creatures onscreen at once.

7.5

Sound
A good medley of rock, acoustic and soft, heart-plucking tunes. Nothing startling, but still decent music.

6.5

Gameplay

Once players acquire more than two legions it gets fun, but the button mashing never goes beyond the simplest of strategies.

7.0

Lasting Appeal

A decent amount of replay value: Players can reconstruct Thanatos and replay the game to collect all the items. All in all, about 10-12 hours.

6.5

Passable OVERALL

(out of 10 / not an average)

And now the Last Rebellion ...

Presentation
Absolutely minimal in every way. Even the characters couldn't be bothered to animate enough to indicade they were talking? Really?

2.0

Graphics
Hands-down one of the worst-looking games on the PS3. This would look average for a PSP game, much less an HD system. The guest art on the loading screens are the only saving grace.

5.0

Sound
Though most of the music and voice work is decent (if forgettable), one particular battle theme is absolutely magical. Luckily, you can hear it on the title screen so you never have to play the game.

3.0

Gameplay
What a wasted opportunity. Hitting enemy parts in sequence could have been so interesting. Instead, it turns tedious and frustrating when enemies can just repeatedly stun your characters.

1.0

Lasting Appeal
No side quests. No towns. Nobody to talk to. No equipment to buy or change. No New Game+. No reason to play this game.

Not really a surprise. Bombed in Japan and the few that bought it were not pleased.

Tag - "No trolling on my watch!"

Look at the bright side guys... at least it's scoring better than WKC >_>
