Weapon swapping is so damn effect with the first shotgun you unlock - fire, press triangle twice, gun is ready to fire again. It makes it shoot much faster than just using it normally since it skips the reload animation.

On a random note, is there anything you can do once you max out every class? I've got the Medic done and close to finishing the Assault.

And one more question: what's the difference between the Sniper's Spotting Scope and pressing Select to spot targets?

Play?

Also, for shame on the exploit!

Anyone want to set up an "Et tu, Brute?" run Saturday/Sunday? I heard that you can stab the same person 5 times and get the trophy. I don't know the minimum player no. needed for a private match, but if you really want to Platinum this game, I think this is the best chance (while everyone is still active).

You cannot earn trophies in unranked matches (privates matches).  However I'd be up for some form of boosting that trophy since I'd rather play with friends when we are both online than spend time trying to genuinely get it playing against them for long periods.

To both Kylie and Rain, how about the Weekend?

anyone else have a problem with the auto-crouch?

@ Akvod

I can probably find the time this weekend.

What auto-crouch?

The only thing I can think of is if you spawn by a squad mate who is also crouching, which is a very good idea!

After playing the demo I picked this up on day one. Add me if you want to play / trophy boost.

It's a damn good exploit if you consider it one.......it's helped me win 1v1's plenty of times now

The same trick actually works on a few other weps. It's something that I learned in CoD:WaW - when reloading some guns, your guy will look like he's still reloading when the gun is actually already considered reloaded. Once you see that the clip is full again, do a weapon swap and it'll skip any unneccessary animations there might be after that. It's best used with some LMG's and works a little with the RPG.

Another awesome bug I encountered was with C4's - I had ran out because of something I tried doing. Though I was empty, the detonation button was actually spawning C4's as if I was throwing them! I literally had an infinite amount. The downside was since the detonation button was only spawning more, it obviously couldn't be used to detonate them but......I quickly threw about 6 of them (max I think) onto an enemy objective in Rush, then used the pistol/shotgun to detonate. Repeated three times and boom, it was gone. The bug fixed itself after I died.

Well, congratulations! You exploited the system and tipped the balance in your favor against legitimate players by cheating!

How to avoid “mapathy” without paying!

While the core of the dev team here at DICE as well as all the back-end teams at EA are 110% focused on stabilizing the game experience we do have some other, great news to reveal. Today we’re happy to announce the release date of the second VIP map package for Battlefield: Bad Company 2! It will be made available on the 30th of March on all platforms at no extra cost to all of you who’ve got your VIP codes entered in the game. VIP Map Pack 2 contains the following:

Arica Harbor Conquest mode - US Command launches a break through action directly at the Russian base. Collateral damage is of no consequence. Capture and secure tactical positions in Conquest Mode across the vast Arica Harbor map.

Laguna Presa Rush mode - The valley and surrounding mountains possess a strategic value in the battle for South America, and an infantry assault supported by light armor vehicles is likely by both armies as US forces defend the nearby Dam.

VIP Map Pack 2 will expand the multiplayer experience on Arica Harbor and Laguna Presa.

VIP members will be able to expand on the deep and ever changing sandbox experience, which in itself provides near endless hours of entertainment, by having new content to keep things fresh. It also plays a vital part in making sure you, the players get proper value for the money you’ve invested in Battlefield: Bad Company 2. This is why these map packs are available at no extra cost, contradicting the industry standard and what our direct competitors are doing. Of course, it also helps avoid segmenting the community, making sure everyone can play together having the same maps available. There will be future paid downloadable content as well but these packs will focus on expanding other parts of the game experience rather than the selection of maps available for the basic game modes. We’re dedicated to taking care of this product for a long time – helping you avoid “mapathy” without getting nickel-and-dimed.

Senior Producer Patrick Bach and Executive Producer KM Troedsson are VIP (at yesterday’s BFBC2 launch party) – are you?

Finally, a big shout-out to all the fans that are playing Battlefield: Bad Company 2 at the moment. We can see from the logs that you’re spending some crazy hours on the Battlefield – in only the last 24 hours you all logged more than 2.5 million game hours. Impressive!

Best regards,
KM Troedsson
