Forums - Nintendo - In the fight for Wiiware Konami wins

I am loving Castlevania rebirth right now. Its kicking my ass.

I loved Gradius, despite its ridiculous difficulty. Ill be getting Contra soon. Hated Driift Mania.

Conclusion - Even though Konami is making "weaker" games, in 16bit, theyve made the strongest Wiiware library by far. Im glad these games haven't made it 360 and PS3, Capcom gives them all the remakes anyway.

Also, as someone else mentioned, they actually updated the software problems that Gradius had. What a surprise.

“When we make some new announcement and if there is no positive initial reaction from the market, I try to think of it as a good sign because that can be interpreted as people reacting to something groundbreaking. ...if the employees were always minding themselves to do whatever the market is requiring at any moment, and if they were always focusing on something we can sell right now for the short term, it would be very limiting. We are trying to think outside the box.” - Satoru Iwata - This is why corporate multinationals will never truly understand, or risk doing, what Nintendo does.

shameless self bump.

whatever makes you happi man.

I couldn't care less if it were on the 360 or PS3, since my wii is modded i didn't have to pay for any of those games, nor feel any attachment to a console based on loyalty

Congratulations. So i guess you don't actually have an opinion on which developer makes the best Wiiware games? right

Gradius is a big hit at my place.

Castlevania Rebirth was a little step back from the DS games, so I didn't enjoy it at all.

I agree, Gradius is great, but very difficult, I still haven't finished it yet. Only played Contra for a few minutes but were awesome! Still have to buy Castlevania but I'll do it soon.

What problems Gradius had btw? Oh, and someone played frogger? Is it worth the money?

I want Metal Gear Rebirth.

I haven't czeched out their Gradius or Castlevania games, but Contra ReBirth was AMAZING. I loved falling from outer space and landing on a robot, crushing it as it was just about to kill a little kid. And of course, you survive falling from outer space and immediately start running and gunning. It was the most absurd action movie madness I've ever played (better than running on spinning helicopter blades or riding on missiles in my opinion).

But I think my favorite WiiWare companies right now are Skip Ltd. for making all the Art Style games, and Gaijin Games for making all the BIT.TRIP games. Konami is kicking some ass on there too though.

they both are doin good, capcom has mega man and phoenix wright you know

but yeah i LOVE castlevania the rebirth, awesome game

lets go metal gear rebirth!

Last year's game of the year turned out to be Silent Hill : Shattered Memories (online GOTY was COD 6).  This year's GOTY leader to me is Heavy Rain.
